Wow, I didn't expect to see you guys commenting on a channel about making foam props. Then again you are fans of cosplay and stuff like that so I shouldn't be surprised. Either way pleasant surprise for sure.

The style of wrap on the tsuka is called a battle wrap, and you did an awesome job

I love that you know how traditional katanas are constructed, even down to how the silk ribbons are wrapped around the grip and even knowing their proper names. This looks insane! Love the way it turned out and I'm definitely going to try to make a katana sometime! Also for future props from Demon Slayer i think that Tanjiro's fox mask would be a good idea since the base can be reused for different characters in the same show.

Dope! For the inner core, a better option would be a water valve key. It's metal, but since it's inside the prop, it's not against con rules, and you can bend them. I've done this a few times now, Pretty easy to bend too, and only about 6mm thick. I use that nested in 6mm foam, sandwiched between 2 pieces of 4mm for a 14mm blade, which is still thin enough to look good. You can also do what you did in the video to use only 2 layers of foam, but whatever..semantics..lol

I was waiting for you to make this! Tanjiro’s Nichirin sword was always the coolest looking to me.

What a coincidence! I'm literally waiting for the silver coat to dry on a replica of Tanjiro's final arc/antique katana right now! Other than the blade being foam instead of wood, this is *exactly* how I build my swords. Also, the style of wrap on tanjiro's hilt is called katate-maki, as opposed to the one you see more often, where the diamonds go all along the grip, which is called hineri-maki.

3/8” rigid aluminum tubing and a hand bender would solve your graphite shaft problem. If you have problems bending with the tubing bender, Adam Savage has a video on building a suit of aluminum armor that shows you an ingenious way to anneal aluminum for easier bending. Just a thought. Love your videos!

Oh, for another DS prop, might I suggest either Himejima's nichirin axe-flail, or (appropriate, since he's central in the next arc the anime will cover) Tengen's sword-nunchaku.

Other than the size, this is an awesome build!

Beautiful looking katana, the glossy black sheen really looks like the anime.

The "sori" (depth of the curve of the katana spine) varies from blade to blade during the traditional forging and heat treating anyway, so making the blade less or more curved is still acceptable from that perspective. Good work as always!

Hey I was around for that original sword video, glad to see that you did things differently this time

Something I have done in the past for an internal structure that needs a curve, V-notch the inside rod. Bend to angle it needs to be. 5 minute epoxy and you've got your angle and can still cover in foam.

Inoskes Boar head is right up your alley.

Great job on the katana. Maybe now you could make the fox mask that Tanjiro wears in his training test of maybe the mask of Urokudaki.

a cool thing you could do is attach a long cloth of juggling silk to get a look similar to Tanjirou's water breathing trails!

So cool! I have two suggestions from two anime’s. The first is demon slayer and the suggestion is Nezuko’s box. The other one is from mha and the suggestion is kaminari’s pointer. You’re props are amazing and I can’t wait to see more!

Good thing I checked the comments. I think Nezuko's box would be amazing, even if it was to fit Joe since he is more of the right " build". But to see it fit any one work be "slaying" it!

Zenutu's sword, Inosuke's sword, and mask, and rengokus sword would be awesome

I know there's still more than a month left, but I would like to see you make Green Goblin's Pumpkin Bombs sometime close to Helloween. If you decide to make any, it would be cool to see you make more than 1 of the designs those Bombs have had in comics/cartoons/movies (my favourite Design for them is the one from Spectacular Spider-Man, but the ones from the Sam Raimi movies are also pretty cool and one of them appears in the No Way Home trailer)

I'm long time fan of the channel i've been watching for 4-5 years now. I have always liked the movie batman forever and i love the riddles the riddler leaves behind. I thought that could be a fun build for you to make, one of his riddles.

Iguro and Uzui's weapons would be cool to see you make!

For costume props etc i made when i was doing em on comission i used to use fibreglass rod (tent rods as you can get them uncut in huge lengths for cheaper) and for adhesive of ...basically anything i used a contact adhesive called "Alpha: Thixofix" ..... then seal it all up with latex colored to what you want the base colors to be and then i used a roofing compound called Isoflex by Ronseal to seal up my props and protect them from a lot of what life can throw at them........ just my 2 cents on the method :) im in England incidently. if anyone ever wanted more info on materials or whatnot gimme a nudge, im happy to ramble!

When i make my own katana i probably wont create that diamond pattern and instead have it just one colour wrapped around the handle but this was a great video and helped a lot
