How to Make DRAGONSLAYER from Berserk out of Foam! Only weighs 5 Pounds - Guts - Free PDF Templates

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Needless to say I am a huge Berserk Fan and I have always wanted my own Dragonslayer! But the thought of making a 6ft foam sword that looks great and is lightweight is definitely a challenge. Well over the past several weeks I took on the task to not only make Dragonslayer but craft a PDF template for anyone else that also wants to make one and give that template away for Free! This sword was a beast to craft and film but throughout this video I will go over all of the steps it takes to assemble this iconic blade. And to top it all off I give the sword the paint job and blood effects it deserves. I hope I have done Guts proud. Now let's go get Griffith!!!
**As a heads up I stated in the video that the foam blade needs to be cut at 60 degree but it's actually 70 I corrected this on the template so you should still be fine for the build

I was actually at the comic-con here in Kansas City the other day, got to meet this remarkable gentleman and got to see the blade up close. I had asked if I was able to simply hold it, since I am such a massive fan of berserk. And even with his (completely understandable) hesitation, he still let me hold it. One of the best moments of my life. Earned a subscription that day, can’t wait too see the rest of your content!

Truly an amazing project and execution!! Everything from the base of the sword, it's stability and firmness to every single little detail added in the painting process. I've seen a couple Dragonslayer projects on youtube and this one is definitely the greatest one by far - not even mentioning the added layers of blood and damage build up. Absolutely incredible job

Some other ways you can get more texture out of permablood is mixing in coffee grounds with it to get a gritty coagulated texture. Also they make permagore which is permablood with little hunks of a sponge material in it to simulate guts and heavier gore

If you want this to be functional to carry, what I did with mine was when I had the mount detail in place on the clamp/bracket (guard piece I guess but it's clamped/bracketed to a handle lol), I drilled into the pipe and screwed a heavy screw eye into it and put a rectangular carabiner on it that attached to a special hook I forged (bent metal of any kind will probably work) that was threaded through my shoulder strap on the back and lashed to my belt to keep it at an angle. Canonically, he uses a chain for that but I didn't have one. The hook I made looked like a cursive Y with a straight tail and the top outer point of the Y was angled to be straight up and down in the 3rd dimension. Hope this helps someone and wonderful job Steve!

Also, if you want the proper scale to you, Dragonslayer is 6' long and Guts is about 6'3". Have fun with the math! Scaling is necessary lest you have a sword that you can't wear or makes you look goofy lol

There really is some serious engineering in this build to keep it hollow and light, odd angled seams on hard edge pieces are a pain but you gave me some tips to help mitigate that. And the touch of using the wire brush to add the ground metal texture for the blade of the sword is clever. This is an impressive build!@@SKSProps
