Nice! Please keep going, one day you make it big
Holy crap I was just playing bioshock and thinking how awsome it would be to have plazmid bottles XD
Those plasmid bottles turned out really nice! I'm surprised at how well the hair gel diffused the light. That was a great idea!
I'm a huge bioshock fan so I'm happy people still make videos years after it was made. my request (which might seem stupid) is zenyattas positivity and negativity orbs from overwatch.

Hair gel was a great idea! I have to remember that for one of my projects.
Odin, don't bother with mod podge. I find out the best alternative to plastidip is mixing pva glue with water in equal parts, and do at least 5 coats. It dries fast. It won't have the brush marks like the mod podge. Good build.

Thanks! The bush marks were a disappointment. I have seen PVA glue and water used on the art cars in the Grand Kinetic Championship, and it worked really well and was strong. I will give it a shot on a future build.

Yep, if you use just PVA glue, it will end up cracking and peeling. Diluted in water will make it more flexible and durable!

I often use carpenter's glue diluted in water when building miniatures. I guess PVA works equally well, but in my mind carpenter's dries harder, although it's also a lot more expensive ! Another tip to avoid paintbrush marks (if using mod-podge) would be to use a foam brush instead.

What's you ratio of water to glue for the diluted mix? I have tried once with a heavy glue mix, and it cracked and peeled straight away.

With PVA glue, I use equal parts of glue and water. More water means you will need more coats. More glue will mean less coats, it will be thicker, also more propense to brush marks and peeling/cracking Do some test on scrap pieces of foam and see what works best for you. That's what I did. I'm from Brazil, so I'm pretty sure the ratio will be different, because you can get better glue, better foam and better brushes up there.
by far my favorite DIY channel
Always impressive Odin!
I really like how you film, the audio quality, and above all the stuff you make looks really good. Thanks for the inspiration of making more cool props.

This is the first of your videos that I've ever seen, wish I had stumbled upon them sooner! This is awesome. The finished product, the step-by-step, and a very professional sounding voice over that reminds me a little bit of How It's Made. Definitely subscribing and looking forward to more!

Vielen Dank! Das Buster-Schwert ist eine Menge Spaß zu bauen und zu halten! Ich würde gerne sehen und ein Bild teilen, wenn du fertig bist!
5:00 sooo satisfying
You can also use latex wall paint, latex or all in one sealant to hide make seams or make them invisible
I'm not a big bioshock fan but i want to make these lol
Make the EVE syringe from Bioshock & Bioshock 2 please.
Clever man, using the LEDs to make the Hair Gel "Glow" per say
For anyone interested in making one smaller, try a votive candle holder. Michael's has a good selection.
*THAT CATCHPHRASE WAS AMAZING.*
Loom odin ive watched a couple of your vids abd you have a gift
The Omniblade from Mass Effect?
This is awesome 🤘🏻👏🏻 I really think shao Khan's hammer would be awesome
Can you build Eve hypo Next. That'd being incredible!
it may be hard, but you should do a portal gun.

Nah, I made a good one for $40
you could use them as gel containers too
Mano, muito show!!!!!!!!!!!
You should make the audio journal from BioShock. I want to make one to hold a blue tooth speaker or something but I don't know where to start.
Congrats on 1k, been here since 600. Can you make a portal gun? I've made one, but I want to see how Odin Makes!

I haven't started on the items, but I'm planning on making a life-size Wheatley. I want it to be posable , I've played portal long enough to know how the movements work, I just don't know how to connect it properly.

Masked Gamer wow, big build! very cool. I have been asked about Wheatley puppets too. I think it is an awesome idea. Portal is my favorite game, I even have Vinny's Companion Cube at the moment!
I've asked on every diy prop shop for a g1 transformers matrix do can you please do one please

Max The Brony that's right!!!
One way you can avoid having as large of a seam between the laminated pieces is by sanding off the texture that's on the foam where you glued it. This will not only give you a cleaner seam line, but it will also give you a much better bond.
@OdinMakes

Thank you, I have considered doing that, but haven't tried it yet.

It definitely makes a huge difference. You could take some scraps you have to test it and see the difference side by side. I love your videos and it's been awesome seeing you grow as a prop maker.
Could you go into more detail on how you traced the shapes to go in the glass? What's the best technique to get a perfect fit?
@OdinMakes
7 жыл бұрын
at 0:31 I was holding the vase level on the table, with paper underneath. There is a pencil against the speed square (the triangle thing) which I was using to trace the profile of the side of the vase down on to the paper. You can make your first pattern with cardboard to make sure it's a close fit.
I just thought of an awesome prop to make. In the RWBY anime series, the lead character "Ruby" uses a large scythe weapon. If you made it in foam ( 1/1 scale ) to be convention friendly, it would be a big hit.
I think it would be dope for you to make Junkrat's RIP-Tire from Overwatch! Or alternatively the Shock Tire from his Dr. Junkenstien skin!
Is there anyway of me purchasing one that is emptily and the lid not being sealed as I am a huge bioshock fan and I think it would be a really cool candy jar
odin loves foam 😂
sweet
Hey Odin I am new to the channel and can you make a Fallout 4 Nuka cola quantum that actully glows with the bottle shape ? If you aready have sweet just send the link to the video.
Do you have an etsy or other platform? I'd be interested in buying one of these from you
Hey Odin, i don't mean to promote another channel by doing this but i recommend instead of using the hair gel, you could use the "ninja turtle ooze" that The king of random used. He had a very clear video on the proportions and what makes it better than the hair gel is the fact that you could mess with it and it is possible that the light shines differently inside with the borax solution
@OdinMakes
7 жыл бұрын
wingedkuriboh98 Totally cool with King of Random, I subscribe to that channel myself. The turtle ooze is a great idea! I was just trying to go for something cheap, and easy to get a hold of.

+Odin Makes fair enough!
I know it's been done before by other, but I'd like to see how Odin Makes a severed terminator T-800 endoskeleton arm prop. I keep thinking about making my own but I really want to make it out of mostly metal parts. Unfortunately I don't have the tools for cutting or working with metal.

Jonathan Morley The first episode of DIY Prop Shop was the Terminator arm. Its very good and cheap. Just search "DIY Prop Shop terminator" on KZread. There's no metal involved

That's why I said I know it been done before.. but it hasn't been done by Odin. Some other ideas are props from the Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters movie; they have some really cool 'steampunk' styled weapons in that movie.
Can you do something from Zelda? Zant's helmet from twilight princess looks awesome, but a bit tricky
Do the EVE Hypo next!
hey Odin you should try making either Vincent Valentine's gauntlet or his gun Cerberus
would be cool to see you make a skyhook from bioshock infinite that actually works :D
Make an eve bottle from Bioshock also. Please!
Hey man, you should make Ash’s mechanical hand from Army Of Darkness!
i think you should make a tachyon enhancer from the cw The Flash
Please make the eve hypo next
man i want to make props so bad now
odin you should make the eve hypo from bioshock
I'm doing some biotech research and I honestly have no idea what I thought this was but I didn't think it was just a prop from a video game XD
Could we please see a replica of the Moon Stick / Wand from Sailor Moon ?
wow rad
hey Odin, I know this is an old video but, how did you get used to the loud sounds f tools like the orbital sander
@OdinMakes
5 жыл бұрын
Was the sound too loud in the mix of the video? Truthfully, my ears are shot. I have 'over the ear' ear protection that I wear with stuff, I forget to put it on sometimes with short use tools. I actually wear them when mowing the lawn!
@xiphoidreporter9036

ok thank you, and no the sound wasn't too loud, but I have loud tools so I just wanted to know@@OdinMakes .
Would you make the 7 amulets from season 3 of DC Legends of tomorrow
Can you please make a t45 helmet from fallout 4
Could you make a Savage Lynel Crusher or Ancient Bladesaw from Breath of the Wild please?
can you make a glave? The weapon from Krull and 80's movie...
Great job, but please make the plasma cutter from dead space
i really like it but i would want to try with metal
Hey!! Can you make a Pip-Boy 3000 mark IV from Fallout 4? I'm dying to have one, I just don't know how to start. :D
