In making a Jurassic Park Jeep from a Jeep YJ, I have found myself running more into being less movie accurate for sake of space and the fact this is a daily driver and trail rig, not a sit in movie prop. I started to notice in the movie that the front fog lights were never used, but the back ones above the tail lights were. I knew they had the whip antennas for the CB radios. However, nobody used a CB radio from the vehicle. I have found one needs to put the whip antenna straight up before receiving and transmitting or else it will fry the finals in an actual CB radio. I found the CB radio fits nicely into the cubby hole above the glovebox. However, when I later put in the boat searchlights found on Jurassic Park Jeep #12, the movie showed what was possibly the controllers for said search lights in the same cubby hole. I wound up wiring all four lights to 2 double pole double throw switches with momentary on/off/on switches to control the side to side, as well as up and down movement. Those switches went next to the steering wheel. Then came the surprise that people found when they put the boat searchlights onto their Jurassic Park Jeeps. A whistling noise that increases to deafening levels the faster one goes. Come to find out, the four screw holes underneath that secure the top lid of the searchlight to the bottom portion causes the whistling. Some have put earplugs into the holes while others have taped over the holes.

A Fond Childhood Memory: In the scene where Nedry and Dodgson meet at that café in Costa Rica, where Nedry sprays some of the can's shaving cream on his hand and wipes the cream off on a piece of pie, my 6 year old self in 2001 one thought the stuff in that can was actually edible. In an attempt to try some, I sprayed some of the contents of an actual barbasol in my mouth... I immediately spat out the foam and had to wash out my mouth... a lot. I also ended up wasting my grandfather's barbasol when I threw it away in a street can. It remains to me a cherished childhood memory. RIP Grandpa John

Very cool. This is one of those neat "spy tech" movie props I always thought was fascinating when I first saw them as a kid. Right up there with some of the bond gadgets.

Loved this video!! As a huge JP fan and amateur replica prop builder, I will definitely be giving this a go. Somebody who knows I like JP actually bought me one of those Barbasol 'hide a can's so I might just use that.

This is indeed amazing, especially since I am a fan of the films. Will definitely plan on using this for a future summer project, especially if one of my shaving cream cans runs out (As a fan, I purposefully ONLY use Barbasol for shaving).
