Counter theory, Sanji's constant mentioning of breast subconsciously made Luffy think they have bigger breasts. The nika fruit leaked a bit of it's power because the breast will be free from the shackels of a bra.

The Rumble-Rumble fruit would indeed be perfect for Nami. She could combine her Clima- Tact (including Zeus) with her devil fruit to devastating effect. That would move her from one of the "weaker" fighters to the stronger ones. She'd basically be like Storm from X-Men, but with greed and anger issues, which would be terrifying.

the world of One Piece is roughly 4 times larger than Earth and WAY harder to live in and go around, and out of probably billions of people in the world, there are most likely no more than a few hundred devil fruits to go around. so i really wouldn't say finding a DF is easy, it's only "easy" when you are a powerful Yonko with a lot of secret knowledge.

With usopp leaving and not caring about the crew he does not contact his friend sogeking. The straw hats spend 20 minutes trying to shoot down the flag. Then spandam is not shot by sogeking delaying him. Robin is sent away and the straw hats are down robin and usopp. Franky doesn't join the crew. I had also happily forgotten about that Dugong until you just had to bring it back up again, Its already bad enough that I have to see those every time I go grocery shopping they don't need to ruin my fantasy universes also.

I don't think we'll see any of the crew get a new devil fruit in the manga. We know it takes time to learn how to use the fruit effectively in battle - Kalifa and Kaku took a while to adjust to their new skills, and even then they weren't effective. I think, were we to have gotten a new fruit for one of the non-fruit members, it would have been earlier in the series so that they'd have the time to train up with it.

I still like to believe that Nami will eventually get a Devil Fruit, mostly just because she has been transporting and taking care of her Tangerine's since the start of the story, and I would love to see something come from that. There’s some discussion I’d like to start because literally nobody has ever talked about it apparently At some point, Oda subconsciously decided on something very very subtle about characters who are non gag unattractive characters such as early days Alvida and such ugly characters link back to the good/bad timelines that Oda drew Good timeline = good looking Bad timeline = not good looking Shakky = obviously good timeline Big Mom = obviously bad timeline There seems to be 3 scenarios where the path shifts towards the bad timeline: 1) straight up evil Examples include: Catarina Devon, in her 30s but she’s not ugly, she also collects the heads of beautiful women Doc Q: just poisoning apples and giving to people 2) being “mislead” Examples include Linlin She may have become a bit evil now in present day, but she’s more ruthless imo She was basically groomed by Streussen Who’s implied to be Perospero’s father She has a noble (albeit twisted) goal of living with every race and not having actual parents to put in her place and fix her mindset just made sure she slowly shifted towards the bad timeline Alvida could be included here too: she’s in her 20 but was fat and ugly but she’s “back” in the neutral path after eating her DF 3) something terrible happened to you Examples include Shinobu She lost her master Oden, and she also lost her country basically, it fell under the rule of two terrible people, that’s why she was fat and ugly, now she’s slim and pretty thanks to Ryokugyu but that’s an allegory to show she’s back on the good timeline Another example includes Lola and Chiffon The bad thing that happened to them is being born into the Charlotte Family Oda drew what Lola would look like if she ate Alvida’s fruit and she’s the stereotypical pretty design These “rules” don’t seem to apply to male characters as often And age and good looks seem to be related too Kureha aged gracefully so the has wrinkles since she’s over 100, but still skinny Basil Hawkins is 31 but not evil, he is like on number 2 or 3 but the real bad stuff hasn’t happened yet (assuming he survived since it’s One Piece)

Correlation does not imply causation. Just because the bad timelines of certain characters have them looking old and ugly, while them also having resorted to less moral paths does not mean that every character who matches one or more of the above is in their "bad timeline". Essentially what Oda wants to portray is characters letting go of themselves, for various reasons. Having given up on maintaining their appearance: either because they don't pay attention to it due to different priorities (Big Mom), or having been broken inside and having given up, or because they simply can not afford to. Or a combination. Again, not every ugly drawn female character in One Piece needs to fall in the above. Some are just drawn like that because it is One Piece. And before you say that "this isn't true about male characters"...just take a good look at the series again. Brook is clearly not on a bad timeline and the guy was never a looker. Or Vegapunk. Or Moriah. Moreover, the human brain has such great pattern recognition that we often create patterns where there are none, or at least there were not intended to be. Rookie writers and most readers often fall into this caveat easier and they read too much into stuff. When patterns are intentionally created like this, they oversaturate the story and it can come off as way too cringe and complicated. It is when the pattern and symbolism, later attributed by the audience, is natural and unintentional that it reads well. Oda is more easy-going in his writing than we think and that is what makes it astonishing. Because he does not try to insert too many complicated patterns. Kureha being super old but still better looking than other characters is not an intentional metaphor for her being in her good timeline. She is canonically stated to strive to maintain her appearance, because that's what she wants. Of course, her achieving this is the "good timeline", as its her desired outcome. But it is not a symbolical metaphor, because the concept of bad timelines is a thing created by Oda to amuse himself and us, not something with actual gravity in the series. (except when Bonney's fruit is concerned) In the same vein, Shinobu's transition is not a metaphor either. Her life fucking sucked, this took a toll on her appearance. Then it did not suck, so her appearance also changed. The comically swift transition is just One Piece being One Piece. It is also a common running gag in animanga and stems from a culture of fat shaming in Japan. (see: Akimichi Choji from Naruto.) Of course, all this can be seen and read as the metaphor you propose. But this is how we the readers, and later critics, can interpret it. It is, most likely, not an intentional detail. Occam's razor would argue in favour of this. Its a great thing, that it can be read in the way you propose as well. But it can be read like that and not come of as cringe as fuck, BECAUSE it was not intentional. There are tons of examples where writers write themselves into intentional patterns that end up not only not being amazing, but also harmful to the story. Take the blatant racism and genetic superiority prevalent in Naruto (different pattern, same abuse v non-abuse line), where what was initially meant to be rare, niche powers evolved into "if you are not related to x, y and z, or a, b and c (with most being branches of x) you are pretty much guaranteed to be fodder". PS: this is not to say that every pattern in One Piece is unintentional. But this example of a pattern has way too many counterpoints and examples that need to be stretched to fit into it + it needs to incorporate extra-canonical material to be valid.

It's just something that has been happening rather frequently but it's not obviously stated because ultimately it's not important for the story, just a nice byproduct of it. Characters achieving their dreams IS the same as staying on the good timeline. Fun or not that's precisely what Oda is implying with those drawings. Moria is most definitely on the bad timeline, he lost his crew, he got fat and weak, etc I said it doesn't seem to happen to male characters AS OFTEN (read carefully), gag or not. Just look at Raizo. He was on the same "bad path (3)" as Shinobu but after Ryokugyu fought them in Udon, Shinobu slimmed down, Raizo did not. Oda seems to prefer female characters slightly more. But this seems to be on a case by case for the characters affected by this "theory". Towards the end of your comment it was just a bunch of air to be honest. Thanks again for the comment though.

I would be down for it. I just want a Straw Hat member to have a Logia. And with Monet’s, it just makes sense that Nami, or even her Climatact, or Zeus having it would make so much sense with her powers to manipulate the weather. It could also be cool if she got Monet’s Snow-Snow fruit, and got her hands on Big Mom’s DF, and gave it to Zeus, or the Climatact as well. But I personally don’t think Big Mom is 100% defeated, and that she will probably make some comeback in Elbaf.

Give Nami the Rumble-Rumble fruit is where I actually disagree with Oda, don't like some the devil fruit choices he gave to the non devil fruit members of the straw hat crew, for Nami I would give her Kuma's Paw Paw fruit, because think about it to actually use that devil fruit to its full potential you really have to be great at navigation, when Kuma sent the crew flying at sabaody he sent Nami flying to a moving Sky Island, it just shows how great a navigator Kuma is truly is, and it takes another great navigator to actually use that Devil fruit to its full potential. One more thing is that I wouldn't put it past Oda if the romance Dawn version one or two Luffy's were actually Joy boy and that those stories happen 800-1000 years ago in the past.
