That task manager fix made it so that I could play my VR games on normal graphics without crashing at all, compared to constant crashes even on the lowest settings, and half resolution. Thank you, you've saved me so much frustration.

Using the Oculus App on my iPhone was the easiest setup. The device setup wass basically automated when app/Quest connected, I almost thought that i was using an Apple device. The Quesst presentation inside the box was very impressive, and everything worked straight from the box. Batteries was fully charged and installed. First impresssions mattered! My onmly gripe is the 1,5 second lag when using the Quest to play Virtual Desktop. That's how I found your video. The best most complete guide of all. Thank you.

I was so annoyed, put a good amount of money into pcvr for my quest and for it to be laggy when my pc can clearly run the games I play was so annoying, but the task manager trick fixed it, you are a god and I cannot thank you enough.

after watching this video i have noticed that i have a really small brain any fixes for that? also really great video it helped me alot with steam vr in genral because i would get stutters in gorrila tag and it would also crash the game from the stutters that you for the help!

If that doesn't work, reduce the resolution by closing one eye. You can reduce it further by looking through a used toilet roll tube. Finally, if all else fails, try turning it off and on again.

I've watched alot of videos on how to fix the lag/stutter for quest 2 pc vr, this is the only video that fixed the issue. Setting the oculus link priority to high seemed to do the trick! Thanks brotha

hey man ik this video is 2 years old but I've been having stuttering and nop reason frame drops when I have over 80% headroom, after I watched this video I used steam vr to track GPU framertime, and I used the taskl amanger trick and I got no frame drops, no stuttering, 6 mods installed, andddddd a GPU framtime of 3 and 2 ms stable. I love u man ur funny and u give good info

YES!! Please show the best settings for OBS and streaming!! Playing Half-Life Alyx with link on Quest 2 is giving me awful stuttering (6-7 seconds of having below 20 FPS in some areas), and giving me GPU memory warnings when I start the game. Going to try these suggestions out to hopefully fix it, but even more settings tips would be great! :)

Thanks for the priority tip. Helped iracing run a bit longer but still crashes. Suspect my optane memory because watching task manager, vr crashes when optane goes to 100%. Maybe need to upgrade to NVME

Don't forget to check your ethernet cable as well. A cat 5 network cable, especially over a longer distance, isn't going to cut it. You need a decent high-speed cable to cope with the data demand. I was really confused why my RTX 2060, i7-10750 computer was having so much trouble with VR but it turns out this is the reason.

Your ethernet cable won't make a difference in game performance if you're using the Link Cable.

@@loganwallace1310 yeah an ethernet cable and air link will speed up air link by a LOT meaning no more lag on vr as long as your internet isnt trash

It fixed my stuttering issue but now I cant launch any apps lol.

I've ordered the cable because I assumed a cabled connection will max out the capabilities of the headset. I presumed a WiFi connection will have limitations.

Hi! Thank you so much! The "Task Manager Trick" worked for me. A friend of mine (Thank you Tobbe) helped me refine the "trick". With a simpel script you can make a program that change the priority of ovrserver_x64.exe by one click. Instructions: 1 .Open Notepad 2. Type wmic process where name="ovrserver_x64.exe" CALL setpriority 128 3. Save the file as .bat 4. Your finished and ready to go If you shut down ovrserver_x64.exe you have to run the script again next time ovrserver_x64.exe is running.

Hey there, I know this video has been out a year now, but just got my first real VR set, the OQ2. I've always been decent at IT/PC stuff, just enough to get me in trouble and through hours of googling, barely back out of it again..lol. Just turned 52 and am starting to feel a tiny bit of that, "being on top of a technology enough to get by" slipping. Your video was the 4th or 5th video I watched, all who's title proclaimed what I thought would solve my issue. (A PC that is barely to spec, for working with the Q2, and all kinds of pixilation and stutter problems.) The other videos hit some of the same points you did, but your way of explaining things, and what you chose to show on the screen really sunk in well, and it all clicked for me. Now it could be the whole "I loosened it, that's why you got the jar of pickles open" hypothesis, but I used to do a lot of training and teaching in my career, and I can tell you have a knack for it, light hearted and fun, but not corny, long enough to tell you wanted us to get the info, but not so long, we couldn't wait for it to get over with, clear and concise, no opinions, great great job!! Sorry I rambled, I guess that comes with age too, just figured with all ugliness on the internet these days, it probably doesn't hurt to throw some love around to others once in a while.
