Good, clear instructions with well-shot footage. This is my favorite video on the Octopus Guard I’ve seen on KZread. Thank you.

That actually makes perfect sense and I didn't have to watch it a million times to understand. Thank you. You're a great instructor as well as an amazing competitor!!

Wow. I love half guard and I didn't know this progression for octopus guard, but I'll definitely try to add this to my game. Thanks so much!!!!

Great video integrating good options, I ended up last night in that position after a failed half guard sweep and didn´t know what to do. Thank´s for sharing.

Hey! That was really cool! I've used Octopus guard in a few ways with some success, but I love the way you switch feet to get more of a lockdown. I used to try and get the butterfly hook, but I often could not get it. Your solution is brilliant! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Merci Beaucoup from Ontario!

switching the leg is key but I'd avoid going for the lockdown as it would kill your mobility

She's very wrong. You do not reach over to grab the lat. They'll re-cross face you & flatten you out. You have to keep your elbow HIGH up near the shoulder & pressure down on them with your elbow. You also want to pinch your elbow up to your neck to make the cross face a little harder as well. I'm not watching past that. Setup is wrong so I know the rest will be wrong too lol. No wonder the women's division "has to be protected". The jits sucks.
