    This isn't a question I can really answer, because there is no clinical data (that I know of) that compares these 2 models to say exactly which is best. The overall results, based on my experience are going to be comparable. The Sonicare may likely feel more intense and thorough, but this doesn't necessarily mean it is better.

    As much as I like the iO9, if you want some smart features and want to keep the price down, go for the Oclean. The clinical data suggests the Oral-B could clean better. But, in reality, the differences are not that significant providing you use the correct brushing technique with either brush. So the X Pro Elite can still clean the teeth well.

    @@ElectricTeeth hey thank you! i went for the oral B io9 at the end.. i wanted the soniccare 9900 prestige but sadly philips dont sell at all in my country.. in terms of price comparing i think that teeth care is expensive matter in its self so if a brush even doing 1% better cleaning than the other the price definitely worth it so long you can afford i guess.. also oclean is about half the price of io 9 here in my country and its way harder to get heads.. oclean also doesnt come with stand for heads or a carry box which adding them minimize the gap in price.. personally im not huge fan of oral b because normally their battery is bad i had oral b before.. and i feel like their tiny head makes brushing properly (even if i ignore the app) to feel that i probably cleaned all my teeth and covered them all i feel like i need 3-4 mins because the small head.. however i do feel that due to the small round head im able to reach places with oral b that i cant reach with other brushes.. like the back of my wisdom tooth .. and some weird places .. thanks

    I have this toothbrush and I am a bit confused about the tracking function. In the app when I choose the standard cleaning mode it guides me to clean the following areas: Step 1: Upper Right, Lower Right - Outside Step 2: Upper Right, Lower Right - Inside Step 3: Upper Left, Lower Left - Outside Step 4: Upper Left, Lower Left - Inside These steps miss the biting surface, and the direction differs what dentist recommend. If I do not follow these steps it does not give 100% score.

    @@ElectricTeeth Will try but I'm afraid then I will miss the gumline. Oclean offers 8 zone tracking compared to Oral-B 6 zone. It is a bit different. Oral-B IO 9 has 16 zones, that would be the best. But I prefer the sonic technology rather than rotating. I miss that Sonicare does not have 16 zones, even in the diamondclean premium brushes.

    @@ElectricTeeth if that's the case, the manufacturers are bordering on consumer abuse & is totally unacceptable. The software should be updated so that individual family members can have personal accounts, even be able to freely switch between them on a single phone. ET, I'd suggest you research the issue & publish the workaround for consumers to assess whether it's too fiddly or not. What's the alternative? Each member be forced to have their own complete toothbrush? If you think that's acceptable then you aren't doing your job of informing consumers. Stick to your guns & I'll report you to KZread & you'll have a strike against your site. Get off your butt & don't side with the corrupt/lazy manufacturers.

    I agree that it would be nice if the toothbrushes and apps had the option to work for different users. There is a way to do it with Oral-B toothbrushes, but it is a bit of a messy solution and rather impractical on a daily basis. Smart toothbrushes are evolving and in time, we may see more work in this space. Smart toothbrushes are not essential, so how big an issue is this really? One thing that crops up, is if you do share a toothbrush, what happens if someone travels or is away for a night for some reason. They have to have another toothbrush. Thus, inevitably, most people have their own toothbrush as this allows for greater flexibility. So potentially, for the vast majority this is a mute point.

    Hi, to be honest I'm a little bit suspicious knowing that there are Germany made toothbrushes. None of the top toothbrushes list included any of Xiaomi ones. Could you shade the light on this price range what's better to buy? I'm living in China currently and wanted to order Xiaomi, but my wife tries to convince me that better to buy brands which were toe to toe with the teeth care for years.

  • @ElectricTeeth

    @ElectricTeeth

    3 жыл бұрын

    Paul. To some extent it doesn't matter what brand you buy as long as you use the brush correctly. Brush with the correct technique, for 2 minutes and twice a day. Oral-B (Gemran) and Philips Sonicare (Netherlands) are the leading brands due to their size, market share etc. There products are more widely sold and clinically tested. The likes of Xiaomi are newer brands (massive in China), that use the same brushing technology as Philips Sonicare. Thus comparable. Xiaomi is not as widely stocked in the US & Europe and don't have quite the same recognition as they are less known in the western world. I hope that helps.

    Sorry, but Oral-B IO Series 6 through 9 is the quietness of all electronic toothbrushes till this date. If there is a comparison for just the Sonicare brands then I would have to agree, Oclean X Pro Elite will be the winner. Also, Oclean X Pro Elite provides a 45,000 rpm cleaning power less than Phillips Sonic brushes and many other competitors (not mention in video). What does this mean? These numbers (rpm) are to determine how well the brushing is capable of removing plaque & tartare. Less sonic (vibrations) the brush head moves back and forth then less of a chance oral hygiene is maintained. Yeah, yeah, we hear all the time how good a toothbrush “feels” clean after brushing, but what about how well does it remove plaque & tartar? The point of brushing is to keep the gums and teeth in check vs then just “feeling” clean. After brushing many uses will say their mouths feel clean using a sonic toothbrush. And that is a good thing. Although, for those that may have some plaque and tartar, even in a extreme case, did that particular electronic toothbrush do its job by removing the plaque and tartar? This begs the question for the Oclean toothbrush. Is the Oclean X Pro Elite has a enough sonic power with it’s low rpm to accomplish the job by removing hard stains, plaque, and tartar? Only time will tell.

    Perhaps your brush is faulty? Yes power has some part to play compared to a manual brush but 25,000 brush strokes compared to 31,00 compared to 40,000 doesn't actually have significant impact on the cleaning ability of the toothbrush.
