Oceanside -- Residential (WM)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Waste Management of North County services the City of Oceanside. There is a nice mix of old school WM trucks as well as new "Think Green, Think Clean" garbage trucks in this city. This video shows six of WM's residential trucks working on the Friday route.
(0:00) - 101287: Almost immediately after we arrived in Oceanside, we spotted this truck working in the alleys. Before May 2015, I had thought that Oceanside was pure CNG, but WM informed me that a little less than half the trucks in the city were still running on Diesel. Anyway, I was very excited when I saw the number. 101287 is one of four ex-San Gabriel Hauling trucks that Oceanside runs. In fact, I know the driver who used 101287 when it was still in the Baldwin Park yard. I used to see this truck all over the San Gabriel Valley, but I never got to film it until now. These trucks sound awesome, and it was very nostalgic to hear the roar after so many years. If any of you have ever gotten to track down your childhood truck(s), it is a very exciting experience. This truck even operates like how Baldwin Park drivers would. Huge thanks to the awesome driver, Se'e, for letting us film and his service with Waste Management. He's a very fast, safe, and efficient driver; in fact, he was the first one back at the yard, and other drivers were telling us, "That kid is a machine!" when we asked about him.
(2:03) - 104049: While looking for other trucks in the city, we came across this Labrie working a recycling route. Interesting truck to say the least, and I was very impressed with the reach of the arm. First time filming a Labrie personally. Thanks to the driver, Danny, for letting us film!
(3:09) - 103983: We saw another Labrie in a different part of town, and so we asked the driver, Jim, if he knew where Se'e was working since I wanted to film more of 101287. Jim called some other guys trying to locate Se'e, which was super nice of him to do that for us. You'll see him restart the arm cycle as well just so we could get a good clip. Thanks to Jim for all his help!
(3:37) - 101287: After much driving, we finally found Se'e again...on his last alley. We grabbed as much footage as we could before he finished.
(7:23) - 104050: Here is the truck that was working recycles opposite to Se'e.
(8:46) - 101198: We had about a half hour to kill after Se'e packed out before our yard tour, and so we decided to check out the little trailer park down the street from WM. As we went over the hill, we saw two trucks in the park and 101198 about to turn in. Alex thought this was a driver who had previously said no to filming before, so we followed him for about two streets before Alex decided to film no matter what. Excellent call on his part, because it turns out that this driver, Raul, is actually the same guy Alex filmed many years ago on commercial recycling. So once we found out he was super cool, we were able to film a few clips before we had to leave. Really fun truck to watch, especially on this route full of 32 gallon carts. Huge thanks to Raul for letting us film and almost 10 years of service with WM!
(11:09) - 103979: Here is the garbage truck in the trailer park. Another one of the many Labries WM has in the city. Garbage and recycling is supposedly all CNG, but the recycle truck in the trailer park was an ex-Solana Beach Amrep, #102938.
I would like to give a huge thank you to all the Oceanside drivers and staff of Waste Management of North County we met that day! Every single one was very nice and friendly to us, and it made for one awesome day for filming. Hope some of you guys see the video!
Another big thanks goes to Alex for taking me around Oceanside all day and for an awesome lunch! For the drivers, here is Alex's Oceanside video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CgvQ...
These Oceanside videos will be my last uploads for a little while in order to give you all time to watch, enjoy, and hopefully comment on the videos. If time permits, I highly recommend checking out the Oceanside commercial trucks video, seen here:

Thanks for watching and I hope you all enjoy what I must say was the best filming trip I've ever had!
