More than 12 years after Seven Lions uploaded an unofficial remix of OceanLab's 'Satellite' onto his SoundCloud page, the remix finally sees an official release on Above & Beyond's Anjunabeats label.
OceanLab is the chart-hitting side project of Above & Beyond (Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamaki) and singer-songwriter Justine Suissa.
With a discography spanning over two decades - including top 20 UK single ‘Satellite’ (2004), two top 25 UK dance albums (‘Sirens of the Sea’ in 2008 and ‘Sirens of the Sea Remixed’ in 2009), and two top 10 UK dance singles (‘Clear Blue Water’ in 2003, and ‘Satellite’ in 2004) - OceanLab cemented themselves as a seminal dance act with an undeniably unique sound, where Justine Suissa’s compelling voice, lyrics and melodies take centre stage.
OceanLab’s ‘Satellite’ was released in 2004 to wide acclaim, peaking at number 19 in the UK singles chart in May 2004 and remaining there for a month. The track would go on to become a cult classic, sung along to by fans at countless Above & Beyond shows.
‘Satellite’ (Seven Lions Remix) is the third single from the forthcoming ‘OceanLab: The Anthology’ project, which celebrates the legacy of the iconic trance group through a series of new remixes, a digital compilation, and a limited edition vinyl box set product.
Melodic dubstep pioneer Seven Lions rapidly rose to prominence after winning an Above & Beyond remix competition in 2011. His unique rework of Above & Beyond’s ‘You Got To Go’ (feat. Zoë Johnston) immediately grabbed the trio’s attention, sparking the beginning of a relationship that would span multiple collaborative performances between the two acts and an array of further Seven Lions remixes of Above & Beyond and Anjunabeats classics.
A vocal fan of Above & Beyond’s early works, Jeff’s (Seven Lions) own inimitable brand of high-octane, bass-saturated dance has always kept songwriting at its core. Some of his most recognizable Anjunabeats releases include his heavy-hitting remix 3LAU’s debut Anjunabeats smash, ‘Tokyo’ feat. XIRA, his unforgettable collaboration with Jason Ross and Paul Meany, ‘Higher Love’, and more.
In 2019, Above & Beyond, Seven Lions and Opposite the Other made their collaborative debut with ‘See The End’. The track quickly became the #1 airplay record in the Mediabase Dance Chart and has since racked up over 19M streams on Spotify alone.
Released earlier this year, Above & Beyond's latest collaboration with Seven Lions and Opposite the Other, ‘Over Now’, amassed over 780K streams in its first week of release and earned support on Sirius XM BPM, A State of Armin, iHeart Evolution radio and over 600 local stations worldwide.
This year, Above & Beyond were the only British DJs to sell out two consecutive nights at Printworks as part of the iconic London venue’s closing season. Over the summer, their Group Therapy Weekender festival once again saw thousands of Anjunafamily descend on the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State. They also made appearances at Tomorrowland in Belgium and Insomniac's Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. They recently made a return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre to helm two shows alongside label stars from Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep.

Perhaps A&B had a change of heart with giving old remixes a release. Apparently once a remix has been published on youtube or so, it's a no-no to give it an official release. Reason I'm mentioning this is because there is another STUNNING remix. A&B - Tri State (5vel remix) I really hope after 10 years, this remix will also be given a chance for an official release :)

Remember hearing this on trance-addict forums in 2011. The way it hits fully at 2:18 and then those plucks at 2:45. First time id heard trancey dubstep and as a fan of the original song this blew me away. I don’t like dubstep at all but this track is amazing

Oh it absolutely is. Besides modern mixing techniques and his experience, he also probably remixed/remastered sounds that he could (IDK if be would still have access to the original project file) to make it cleaner and crisper. It's also much louder.
My favorite OceanLab track with Sirens of the Sea close second and Justine Suissa's vocal are legendary. Although I'm not a fan of Dubstep, it's an unique remix

Was thinking of adding this song to my list the last two weeks, didn't as I got busy, and the thought of Grimes crowd BS claims. I feel your upload here as a mock on me tbh. If it is, I think many dismiss the real pain, yet to really be felt. Disturbing if so. At this point, with all proven, attempting to deitify or glorify a horrible evil minded selfish talentless individual as is Grimes/ Claire Elise Boucher is only of like minded (evil) individuals. I am going to share my thoughts plain, straight forward and simple, because everyone is watching and feeling the same. It's on those who take such in between stances, to understand and make a clear statement, so everyone watching is able to also understand what they are looking at. Pedophilia, theft, plagiarism, assaults, envy and harassment, mockery, etc are not heroic acts, nor necessities in any sense to address harm. Nothing I've exposed or positively done has been the result of any of what I've endured and continue to, but in spite of. Extremely wrong to claim otherwise, and in anyone's suffering sense, an obvious mockery. Hence, why I am bothering to tell you how your post here comes out as to others, when everyone behind these circles, keep making statements/ actions that read as "either way". The tepid are vomited, as it shows lack of faith for a particular point. There is no doubt on the wrong, harm happening and these people's involvement. Anyone famous or not, semi/ fully involved in some sense, not making clear stances, merely show the signs of things you wouldn't want to see, when dealing with such like groups, easily comparable to Third Reich and the sorts. Don't forget the harm is not only proven and done, but severe. I admire you as artists, why I bother to say things straight to the point, and my stances have been not only about myself, clearly the most affected by all of this, but about representing anyone and everyone who is deeply affected in one way or another by these horrific acts of these people. I think as much as, the recognition to a person like myself where there is no doubt who is what where is beyond merited, and the tepid is a direct insult to that, as much as what literally the description of ROCOCO BASILISK JOKE DATE defines.☄✨👋

I prefer when seven lion's tracks took their time to build the track up like this. Not that he should have stuck to just dubstep, it's more the crafting and length of the breakdowns and build ups, like in this track, that I miss so much from him. His great divide remix is the perfect example compared to the colab he did with A&B a few months ago. Passion vs product.
Dubstep as expected from 7 lions, not a fan. Still thought I would give it a listen.

What a horror show of a remix.
The buildup to the drop came with so much anticipation and then the drop was just anticlimactic I can’t say I’m a fan. Fully support both artists but this one ain’t it for me sadly
