This is not a submarine, but the Titan, is a, Cyclops-class manned submersible.
But,what's the difference between the two ?
The primary difference between a submersible, and a submarine, is that the submersible is launched from a mother vessel or home vessel.
They are typically launched on a raft or platform, which is placed into the ocean! and ultimately descends via four electric thrusters, which helps it to reach speeds of around 3 knots.
But a Submarine can dive underwater, without any external equipment, and surface all through the process of buoyancy.

It is unlikely that the glass broke. It must be either the frame itself or the seams of the unit that separated with fatigue. The heat and compression would have jellified the people while the metal/carbon parts were still shattering and rolling.
Of all your scenarios, only one (which proved true) was the catastrophic implosion. It was not the glass in front but the total failure of the carbon fiber hull. CEO knew that it was not the material to use in the submersible but used it anyways. He refused to work with submarine-subject matter experts in design, chose to use a wireless maneuvering system with no backup, and refused to get it certified before deployment as a tourist trap. It is an industry fact that carbon fiber becomes weak and brittle after multiple excursions to depth and when exposed to cold. Ask any hiker that uses carbon fiber trekking poles in the snow...prone to shatter. The Titan was a total FUBAR from the word go. It is a shame the families will get nothing since everyone on board signed a (kill me) waiver. I just hope that US/Canada will be able to recuperate funding for the rescue through liquidating OceanGate Corp.
