So there is a 21+ pool experience at Ocean. You have the cabanas that are one level below the outdoor pool. It's like a private nook. Then you have hq2 which is a non club environment on weekdays

In fairness, I was Googling up photos of the 21+ pool there................and that, too, looks quite cramped space-wise. So I'm unsure if he would have particularly liked it anyway.

Agree, Vic and Anthony 's at Golden Nugget is the best steakhouse. Their chopped salad is awesome!

Hands down the best resort in AC. Everything is top shelf. Employees are friendly. Dining at the Avila Lounge quite delicious for a buffet. Rooms are the best in AC as are the views. Only negatives are a disappointing shower head in guest room bathroom & the extremely high cost of services at the Exhale Spa. But, the vibe & ambience is superior to other casino resorts in AC! Glad you enjoyed your stay!

nice video, agree with your review...it pains me that Old Homestead in the Borgata didn't make even your list...I'll be there early Jan if you want to link up and I'll treat you to my favorite meal and best things to order at OHS...plus it's my favorite place to gamble (BJ and slots)...used to go a lot more but only make it there 2x per year these days...but I'll get over it lol...keep up the great content!

The table games at Ocean are cheap ($5 mins!), they have a large selection of both traditional European and Asian table games as well as some off the beaten path options. You go to Ocean for the casino floor (which is spectacularly designed), the table gaming, and the high limit rooms. They also have really put some time and effort into a solid bingo hall offering, unlike the other props. There's no place else on the boardwalk I'd rather be to gamble if I want to sit at a table. For slots, I'm probably down at the Trop or Caesar's if I'm low rolling. In the marina, I'm choosing Borgata for everything and I may even head up their for the breakfast buffet no matter where I'm staying.

As someone who has been to Atlantic City many times, I think it's funny that this guy knows not to go to Caesars / Bally's / Showboat / Golden Nugget / Harrah's.

That first pool is cool as hell in the winter. You swim through that doorway to go from the indoor pool to the outdoor pool, which is heated. The part of you in the water stays warm, while the exposed part feels pretty, well, "brisk." And the temperature difference creates lots of cool fog. My last time at that steakhouse was very disappointing, as well. I had to wait forever to order, and the food was just okay. There are some other good dining options, though. My first stay at Ocean not long after it first reopened was amazing. My second stay was good, too. However, my most recent stay turned me off. The toilet in my room had the previous guest's dried urine on the seat. The guy at the front desk at first seemed confused as to what I expected to be done about it, then said he would send up someone to clean it (and never once apologized). The housekeeper never came. I then complained the next morning, and another woman said the issue was never put in the system - and implied that putting it in the system was my responsibility! They removed the resort fee, but that wasn't enough to keep Ocean from losing its #1 spot on my list to Borgata.

Agree with review. In my only trip ever to AC, two of my sons and I stayed at the Ocean Resort. To me, the highlight was the spacious and well designed and comfortable rooms and bathrooms! Totally agree that the Borgata casino was better, bigger, and had more gambling options, although I did enjoy the mixed age crowd at Ocean. I found AC more low key than Vegas but a fabulous option for those on the east coast who want a short getaway.

Whaaaz up Sir James ! Definitely like the look of this place and would stay here . The room was great as well . As for the pool not serving drinks …what knuckleheads thought that was a good idea ? I’m torn between here and Borgata . Maybe I’ll do a few days at each next summer. Hope you enjoyed your three weeks in AC . I enjoyed the content 😎😎😎

The Ocean used to name the Revel. It went bankrupt in 2014 and was closed for a while. If you were a Prime rewards member or higher, you could access the Avila lounge. Their buffet menu is amazing.

This has been a great look into AC. Love the idea of spending the morning at the beach and partying all night. This hotel is beautiful. The problems are the flights and lack of good dining options. It’s inexcusable that the restaurants are poor. It looks like you don’t have a lot of options.

AC is a weekend getaway for people from Philly and NYC which is nice for me since I live 2 hours away. Love the Cafe and Park on the lobby level. I like that the casino floor has plenty of table games with $10 minimums and the crowd is there to enjoy themselves as opposed to local convenience that caters to too many problem gamblers. I can gamble longer there in a sociable atmosphere which I enjoy. It's a nice weekend getaway but still no Vegas. Enjoyed the review and concur with much of your critiques.

Really enjoyed this AC series! Borgata is clearly no 1 and my go to, but I really like Ocean and Hard Rock. I would say Hard Rock is my no. 2 and Ocean is my no. 3 due to the small casino, that is nice but never seems to have the energy or the variety of table games and slots that others have. Looking forward to the next series!

The park area covers what was going to be a lazy river pool in the initial buildout. The original plans also were for two towers.

Great way to end your AC trip James , look forward to seeing your jungle experience from Mexico. Haven't seen you do a little high limit slots for some time now.

Borgata is the best down there --easy hands down. Old Homestead is not that bad for a good steak ---Got the Surf and Turf for 155 with LobsterMac app. ---great meal brooooo ---tough to beat it.

You need an insider next time out! I'm an AC regular. The Golden Nugget has the best Steak House, Vic and Anthony's. It's incredible. There are also 2 pools that you missed. HQ and the adults only cabana pool. Both feature drink service, great music and fun times.

Best steakhouses in AC: the Old Homestead@Borgata, Vic N’ Anthony’s@The Golden Nugget and Morton’s @Caesar’s. Beach is quieter and more secluded North by Ocean Resort, then South by Tropicana it’s fun but busier, finally mid-beach by Caesar’s/Bally’s it is energetic, loud and busy.

There is 2 other pools one is private for paid only and then theres a 21 plus pool where they usually have pool parties during the weekend. great video

Yeah, I assumed Borgata was going to be the better of the two resorts, but Oceans is certainly the most gorgeous resort from an architectural and designing standpoint. It's just mesmerizing gazing at and the designers deserve an A+ for effort. 🙂 But yeah: I just remain unconvinced it's worth investing in an Atlantic City trip personally. It has its redeemable qualities, charm and history for sure, but pretty much everyone is nonetheless tells me it's a shadow of its former self and has been for quite some time. I'm just unconvinced it's for me. Still, I'm glad to have vicariously lived this experience through your videos and glad you had plenty of fun there. 😊

fun fact: during a stay at Ocean a few years ago the power went out and the generators were not enough to power the elevators. we had to wait for the elevators to come back…. Which was at like 3am. 😂 The WORST part was, the TOILETS in the lobby also didn’t flush. The bathroom was an absolute SHITSHOW (quite literally). All that said, I do love Ocean! It’s the best hotel in AC by far. I love that the lobby is displaced from the casino. They also have a separate adults only pool. You have to pay for a daybed and it’s a very relaxing environment, but that’s a wonderful place to relax for the day! ❤

My favorite is Caesars only because I have the most luck in earnings. on the craps table. 🤑

Ocean casino has two other adult only pools that you somehow managed to miss.

HQ2 on the ground level is the adult only pool. You actually have to enter it from the Broadwalk, no access from the hotel itself. And yes, there's bar service.

the beach is shallow at that end of AC. much more sand near Trop.

I was at the ocean resort during marathon weekend. Loved the room and dinner at Amada, but the check in process was the worst.

try the hard rock buffet tuscan salmon. worth every penny bro.

Really digging your tours of these casinos on the east coast. Hopefully you travel to New Orleans and showcase some of those as well. That would be pretty awesome.

I have always thought from the outside Ocean looks the most like a Vegas resort but the Borgata casino looks the most like a Vegas casino. I prefer Borgata because i do gamble and love the variety of games.

As far as the beach conditions go,the north end suffers the worst beach erosion in Ac . This year was a very bad one. Ocean spent 800k to truck sand in before the summer. As far as food I find Ocean 's better duning options medicore at best.

I think you are missing something very important about A.C. that is very different from Vegas. That is that Vegas is a place where tourists flock to every day of the week . Weekends are bigger but even during the week there are concerts and shows and so on. A.C. is really a weekend vibe. During the week people go but it's a lot of people who get free or heavily discounted rooms and bring their kids. There isn't a lot to do at night other than eat and gamble. I think if you were at the Borgata on the weekend you would have seen an entirely different picture of what it's like there. I've been there both times of the week and the difference is night and day. For me the pool situation at Ocean would be a total vibe killer. Ocean has a big advantage of being on the boardwalk for me even though it's far down at the end. Then again you can cab it from the Borgata pretty easily. I'm looking forward to your next adventure James. I really appreciate your videos.

There’s an Italian restaurant called chef volas that is great, you need to know someone to get a reservation, I would definitely get the reservation for you

When you come back, be sure you get to Vic and Anthony's @ the Golden Nugget.....awesome steakhouse. Or Gordon Ramsay's Steak @ Harrahs. It's a shame that 2 of ACs best steakhouses are in the worst casinos. You can skip Gordon's place at Casears and McCormick & Shmick's at Harrahs.

Now this is impressive. In fact it makes me realize that 30yrs of Vegas has jaded my sense of elegant cool. The architecture is absolutely stunning. Food can be hit or miss but other places/others options salvages your stay. Do wish the beach was better tho...a must when you leave the midwest for the Atlantic Ocean spa effect by nature. Wisconsin 🖐

How do you go to Oceans and not go to HQ or HQ2?! Those are the best clubs/pool party in NJ, arguably in the country.

So I had an exceptionally bad experience at Ocean - room was filthy with toiletries from the pervious guest left in the bathroom, people changing diapers on the pool deck and kids being left unsupervised to throw each other in the pool, my room smelled like old cigar… I stayed one other time because I was seeing a band there - same issues but the spa was great - except they have you on a timer to use the spa facilities and then they kick you out of the spa 🤬

They do have a pool club for adults but maybe only open weekends 🤷🏻‍♀️

Knife and Fork Inn, Docs Oyster House for a good meal

This casino was abandoned for years and ocean bought it for Pennys on the dollar. 200m was the sale price for 2b it cost to make. I bet so many companies regret not rolling the dice for $200 million

There is Ruth’s Chris by ceasars

Harrahs has the best pool/day club in AC. Tropicana has the best dining options, Palm & Chelsea 5 both serve excellent steak dinners. Caesar’s has the best casino/Sportsbook. AC has no nightlife Sun-Thurs, in season or not. You missed a lot on your trip, hopefully you’ll give it another shot in the future.

I think his losing $200 in the high stake slots room at Resorts World was the breaking point for him overall (although I know he played high stake slots at Planet Hollywood.)
