Ocala National Forest Trip - Suzuki LTZ400

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Awesome ride out at Ocala National Forest. Another 57.6 miles on the Z400 and once again it proved it's always up for any task at anytime. It didn't skip a beat and is ready for more. I wish I put an hour meter on it after I did the big bore 2 years ago, this thing has a ton of hours on it now!
Average temp hovered around 102F the entire ride lol. We severely need rain here in FL, may as well be riding in Baja without it.

Dude that ltz is like riding a sewing machine. I have never owned one but if I ever find a clean one I'm all over it. A 250R would be epic too tho...lol. How do you rate riding w/ the vapor?

Haha thank you, it really is. Such a smooth machine and it doesn't tax the body as much as the high strung dedicated race quads. Hard to beat a 250r though! I like the Vapor, it has a ton of benefits but I'll have to get back to you on it. I washed the quad last night and now the screen is not displaying anything. You'd think these would be waterproof to a degree. Just used a gentle hose nozzle on the quad.

That looks like a heck of a lot of fun!! And thats a pretty sweet quad, man!! I wish mine was that clean!! And I have a question.. IIRC you did a stage 2 intake hotcam and a stock exhaust cam. How does it feel?? Im genuinely curious because I still have my stock cams and want to experiment a little.. i have stage 1 intake and exhaust cams in my 400 right now, just want to know your thoughts on doing just the intake cam is all😁. Compared to my stocker, the exhaust cam has about 10* more duration and not even .010” less lift than my ex Hotcam, im actually genuinely curious to see how mine would perform with the stock exhaust! Sorry for the book…. Lol

Thanks! The new hot cams aren't the best in terms of performance. The hotcam exhaust cam will (I believe) yield less bottom end but more up top. But marginal. Just not worth it to me. If you already have it installed I'm not sure I would bother going back to stock. I have thought about putting the intake cam back to stock to smooth things out and make the top end a little quieter. I hate the racket that HotCams make when the engine is a little warm. It doesn't bother most people but it bothers me 😂

@@PatrickRiggs33 Oh yeah I get what you are saying about the extra clatter. Drives me nuts too😂😂. And It does make sense to keep them as a matching set, it definitely hits hard in the mid range but the bottom end isn’t super spectacular. But, at the same time, Im thinking why not try and advance the timing by a degree or two on my stock exhaust, and have it hard welded with an additional .010”- .020” lift but have the duration stay stock. My stock exhaust cam has more duration than my current stage 1 hotcam, so combine that with a little more lift, and possibly advance the timing a hair, i guess a little goes a long way when it comes to cam timing, and MAYBE it will be a little broader up top?? Idk just spitballing. I could be complete arse about it😂😂

@@zukiryder4006 No, its definitely fun to experiment and I get it haha. I am at the point now where I am not after all out power. I usually focus on suspension mods and just tweak the motor a little here and there and call it good. Other than drag racing no one is really taking full advantage of the power these make right out of the box. Half the people wouldn't even be able to push a stocker to a limit on an MX track. If I want real power I hop on the LTR or 250R.

It's my Killswitch tether cord. Didn't attach it to my helmet though, I attached it to my hydration pack. It just looks like my helmet because of the go pro on a low mounted chin mount.
