Great video! The idea that Mariza seems to have forgotten her memories from is actually much scarier then the transformation itself. The slow start to Ship in a Bottle tied it all together beautifully!

I agree, more then the whole turning into a sea monster thing, the idea of something entirely out of your control slowly eating away at everything that makes you, well you until everything that makes up who you are is just wiped away entirely, is something I find horrific and tragic It's brilliant

PIRATE OC CONTENT LETSGOOO ✨️ i really like how this all comes together with ship in a bottle at the end! Really wasnt expecting for Mariza to find her old captain's coat!! Animation is so fluid it almost feel like you're underwater too, and very clever at how all the pieces come together :DD

THE LORE GUYS THE LOOOOOORE ok but seriously, the facial expressions, the movements, the animated-but-not-quite-animated feel of it, this is amazing. The character designs and the art are incredible. I’ve been waiting for an update for this story to drop on KZread for a while now (I don’t have access to your other socials) and this is legitimately so good.

THE LORE

"You can run from your past, but you can't run from your memories." Feels like an apt line for this. I love the physical change they did going from a more primal denizen of the abyss to a more human-like one after seeing the ship. I also loved the small emotions displayed through the subtle facial changes!

Despite being 2 and a half minutes long, this is an absolutely incredible piece of work. You should be proud of yourself

0:39 Run bitch! *_Ruuuuuun!_* This was absolutely amazing. The lack of music and just simple ambiance was great, and it slowly picking up the guitar strums of Ship in a Bottle towards the end as she approached the coat was amazing.

I love how it connects right into your ship in the bottle animatic (when she finds the captain’s coat)

The amount of hype I felt when I realized that this is a Ship in a Bottle prequel was CRAZY. This whole piece is so cool!! The fluidity in the animation, even in animatic form, is incredibly well done, and the "show, don't tell" aspect of the story is very well executed. Awesome work as always!!

When "Ship in a bottle" started to play at the end I started to get chills. I loved the atmosphere and tone it sets. Especially if you watch the other video of the same title as the song. The OC video Ship in a Bottle is one of my favorite OC videos ever and I love that we get more story for the character. This was such a good intro for that video.

I love that no matter what species you are, no matter how many times you’ve used a sword yourself, every time you see anything remotely swordlike, it’s a necessity to swing it around like your sparring with an invisible ghost

Went back to see ship in a bottle after this cause both the song and the animatic really nailed it. Hope we see the story keep going someday

Alien Passageways, followed by Original Inhabitants or Shadow of the Reefbacks, they're really similar, and ending with the ambience for the interior of Architect bases, can't find the name for the life of me.

Sthe subnautica music was not expected, but it was fitting. GREAT anemation as always, keep up the good work and good luck in school.

The slow start to the "Ship in a Bottle" animatic had me so hyped up for no reason that I immediately clicked that video before the music had a chance to fade so I could get the emotional payoff of it you have no idea. Every time I hear that song my brain goes back to that video and I just recently ran across it again, then may or may not have binged all the new stuff I missed (since KZread doesn't always recommend less frequent uploads)

So much detail in all the ships. Love the use if Subnautica music, and that slow build up of Ship in a Bottle had me tearing up.

Not gonna lie, a part of me saw the ship and went "omg a prequel to Ship in a Bottle??" and then the music kicked in and I went "AWWWW YEEEAAAA" Love your works, and can't wait for more on the story!! ^^

I love the concept of a serpentine dragon creature turning into an evil looking but still some how beautiful mermaid. It's so refreshing for some reason, probably because that's so new and unique. Also the exposition was so good. I love the creature's curiosity

Ooh, this one is really good for a lot of subtle reasons. As always, the limited use of color really makes your characters pop - especially against the dark background here. The motion and implicated of motion is really well utilized. And the sound design is great! Ominous where it neats to be and then of course the hint of song at the end bringing us back to the (first?) Ship in a Bottle animatic. It's like weirdly nostalgic. The only weird thing is the sword swishing noises underwater sounds too much like air, but whatever. It's phenomenal otherwise

when she finds that coat and ship in a bottle's intro started in... the excitement that built up over the connection was not natural that detail made me so happy :)))

this is really cool! I love the way you established the scale and the spooky atmosphere with the various fish working up the food chain and also deeper into the ocean. The black and white with the limited colors made it even better. Amazing for a speedrun project.

The "show don't tell" goes hard here! I listened to/watched that animatic obsessively _years_ ago, but the memories came rushing back like a stormy wave. I could _taste_ the transition from this video all the way back in time to that one! Despite it being cut off so soon, and despite the time frame being actual years since I've seen it last, my brain yanked forward the last trailing notes of "Ship in a Bottle" to fill it in. No more work on your part necessary since you've already done it!
