Observatories | Chile ESO Paranal and ALMA | 4K

Part two of a series of journeys to the big astronomical observatories of this planet. In this video: The Paranal Observatory and the Atacama Large Millimeter Array - ALMA. With some of the biggest ground-based telescopes on earth, the observatories of the European Southern Observatory in Chile are at the bleeding edge of astronomical research. These incredibly complex machines, operating synchronized and precisely in the very remote and hostile environments of the Atacama Desert and Andes, enable deep views into the universe.
All the sequences were shot in only 4 nights in total, but on two trips in 2017 and 2019.

What camera would you recommend for a aspiring timelapse photographer, the Sony A7R3 or the A7s? Edit: and what do you use for exposure control?

edited because 'ridiculous' is often used instead of 'amazing' here in Ireland, but that might be lost on some people and think I'm saying something different!

Elias Rws Indeed! For example, how to ENTIRELY shut down the FUCKIN' worldwide LIFE KILLING night lights, when the night falls... That demonic force which created this, stolen our view of the stars, the true connection of our origin... I don't know for others, but I really feel robbed in this matter...
sencillamente espectacular!!!!!!
Spectacular impressions. Thanks!
Duuuuuuuuude! Absolutely brilliant one more time!! I love the detail you can bring out, but also that opening shot with the crescent moon setting and telescope lighting up!

Bravo, beautiful, sensational, visually stunning, technically stunning, simply superb work. Whoever gave thumbs down are very sad and do not appreciate brilliance when put before them, and for free.
Absolutely amazing .. sublime .. peaceful .. my beautiful Chile. Thanks to you Martin, and all your team, you r the best guys!!
Wow! The sky in these timelapses is just awesome 😃 That reminds me that I should make more timelapses for my movies 😁
This totally gives you the uncanny sense of being aboard a spacecraft cruising through space. Brilliantly jaw dropping work. Can't wait to meet the designer and creator of this reality. 😊

Wonderful work, I have started to do timelapse and they are difficult because of the equipment and the time it takes to do them. My respects and congratulations.

the nice thing is that you can start with pretty low-end equipment compared to video cameras. even with a 10 year old entry level DSLR you can shoot 5K timelapse without problem...
Fascinating. Stunningly beautiful. Thank you. It must be a joy to make works of such power. . .
One word - Stunning.
The whole video is astonishing but I love how a few geostationary satellites can be discerned so easily in 4K!
Great job for the awesome filming, the vision, the patience involved in being there and editing afterwards! 👍
It's amazing. The encounter of space and human technology. Man's endless hunger for the space. Thank you for sharing wonderful video! 👍👍👍😊
nice shot dude, the part with moon set is brilliant
I’ve said it before and I’m happy to say it again and again ... Simply stunning 😍👌🏼
This work is amazing. The sharpness of the sky is incredible. Personally, I really want to photograph the milky way in the southern hemisphere for my future works. But I have to say that without referents like your job, I would not have started doing timelapses like the ones I do. Thanks, Martin.

Sublime!
@TimestormFilms

@TimestormFilms

Thank you.❤❤❤
