Observation of the Development of Chick Embryo

Observation of the development of chick embryo by shell-less hatching method.
This demonstration is practiced mainly based on the scientific article written by Tahara et. al. If you are scientist, you can reach it easily, because it is open accessed article.
The eggs sold in store are usually unfertilized egg and never develop to chick, hence you don't have to worry about eating embryo or baby chick. Now a days, fertilized egg is sold only in "organic" or "natural" store, family poultry farm etc.
The chick grows just same as normal chick.

@@flyer_452official9 Well if you think about it, for some women who want to have children but can't because they are prone to miscarriage, or because having a child could be a danger to their life, something like this is actually a great solution. Of course, It won't be in a cup. It would be a device/ capsule. The reason this worked, is because the chick isn't in need of an actual mother. The egg has already been fertilized and provided with the nutrients the embryo needs to develop, all we did was remove the original container. If it was a mammal now, that would be different. Firstly, we'd have to find a different way to provide the embryo with nutrients and oxygen. The umbilical cord was the connection used to establish this. The mother ate, and her body converted the food into basic nutrients and energy that was shared with the embryo through the umbilical cord. That's the hardest part. Because the ovary is already fertilized, all that has to be done is maintain the life. The only difference is that the container is transparent. Also, there has to be a replacement for amniotic fluid. it has to be as close of a simulation as possible. Not to mention medical health procedures that have to follow. There may be some side effects from not having a normal birth, (vaginal). Mostly those that might come, relative to having a Cesarean section. ...come to think of it, wasn't there already a device like this? Can't remember where I saw it though.

I thought reproduction was a fairly standard part of biology taught in schools.

@@MostafaElSakari I totally get where you're coming from and I used to think the exact same way. I live out in the country and there are so many farms around me that offer cheap or even free eggs from rescued hens. The more I began to look into it though I discovered some things that were unsettling to me. Hens naturally only lay eggs about every 25 days. When they are taken away from them it creates an urge to lay more. The strain of this is really painful on hens and hurts them physically every time. It also takes up much of their own calcium and other nutrients. The chickens are often weak because of this. They are also more likely to get ovarian cancer. Even if they don't get ovarian cancer, however, it is common that they died at least two years early. Naturally, hens are supposed to eat their own eggs if they are not fertilized to get back some of the nutrients. This might seem kind of crazy the some, that I would care down to every single detail. However, I made a decision that I valued life above taste. Not trying to be preachy, but I do think it's something that everybody should look into ❤

I like the way you prepared the artificial eggshell. It can be seen in some other videos that people brood chicks without the addition of a source of calcium (like calcium lactate in your case). I fear this could lead to weak bones in the hatching chicks. I like the way you've done this experiment!
