Mid tempo techinal death metal songs combined with some tempo changes are the best ones. This one is a perfect mix between Morbid Angel and Immolation and I freaking love it.

That's why I don't really like bands such as Archspire even if I love how technical they are and how they are bringing TDM to a whole new level.

@@overkilldyl6841 I used to play drums in a band à la Bloodbath and sing in a thrash metal one, so not an elitist at all. I simply enjoy more listening to mid tempo DM songs than to others that are purely pace and shredding exerices.

I am so glad to see Steffen growling again they sound so fucking sick. This song is the perfect combination of old school morbid angel type death metal and the touch of christian muenzers melodic tech death

@@kostasseth9150 God of emptiness......now there's a blast from the past. Covenant was such a great album. I miss the early 90's death metal era, im 41 now and love it as much as I did when I was 14. Always remember having domination on a cassette with once upon the cross on the other side, that thing got played to death :)

Just another example of metal that sounds veryheavy without playing at top speed. Ridiculously good.

@@bcbitchkkv Meshuggah is anything but monotonous. They have some of the most creative song writing out there. Listen to "Clockworks" or "Do Not Look Down" to see what I mean. But I do agree with your point about contrast. Cattle Decapitation's latest album felt a lot heavier to me than previous ones simply due to the slow, melodic sections that they put into their songs. Without those slow sections though, their older stuff like Monolith of Inhumanity would definitely sound heavier to me.

@@brycewilson1741 Thanks for the recommendation! I have, for the life of me, tried to appreciate Meshuggah, but I often get bored after a couple of minutes. They they stay too much on the low strings imo, but (much like Gojira, Tool and other modern "heavy" bands) I am always up for another chance! Regarding Cattle - what about Monolith of Inhumanity? The song writing may be more sporadic, but the sudden tempo changes etc. really makes for their heavy sections (much like Dying Fetus and Aborted).

Sounds like Immolation and Morbid Angel 😎💪🏼👍🏼🤘🏼👊🏼

Finally feels like Obscura is back after this song. Missed those slow tempo deep gutturals

I love how easy they make metal look .. nothing over the top just instruments strapped on and letting it rip. Holy crap so good.

Brought back the "Morbid Angel Stomp" grooves I see. Good shit. Those chunky mid-tempo morbid angel type riffs always hit the spot.

ive never been this happy with an Obscura release ever. This is their best for me. Good job guys!

Heavy and dark. My favourite so far.

Two things. 1. Simply perfect. 2. Global warming and climate change is real... Now Steffen is only using short sleeves.

So happy you guys went to more a heavy sound....loved the techy stuff with LANSER as the drummer, and with DAVID DIEPOLDS tech savagery ,I thought this album would be similar to your last, but this is genuine and AWESOME!!! SO HAPPY TO HERE THIS

I'm getting a whiff of Macabre myself... Hitchhiker from the Dahmer album especially. Love it 🤟

Definitely different than the last two singles and that is not a bad thing. I really like how the higher tempo riff at 2:36 comes out of nowhere. That part between 4:14-4:26 hurt my neck for sure! Good shit!

Excellent - I haven't been disappointed in anything recorded by Obscura yet...

I just noticed the lead guitarist is wearing a glove on his left hand, looked it up and he has a neurological disorder that causes involuntary muscle contractions. Insane how good he still is.
