    Pretty cool to see the ttb doing its thing on the rocks. I have the dana 50 ttb on my obs powerstroke, just not confident to throw a locker on it. Nice build!

    I’m a huge fan of the ttb! Set up properly you can get great flex out of them and they are really versatile over tons of different off-roading scenarios. Mines the 44 with an ARB locker but I’m running Yukon Gear & Axle ring and pinion and Chromoly shafts.

    Beautiful rig! You should make a walk around video of it. Love the seats in the bed too!

    Thanks! I have been considering doing it for a while but I keep telling myself "After I finish or add the.....". Turns out this is probably a project I will never actually be finished with. I'll get a walkthrough done this fall and tag you when I post it up! Just checked your channel out, love it!

    nice truck bro! I live in SLC and I daily a 1994 f-150 RCSB 4x4 5.0 5 speed. I love it and its super reliable. I don't do much wheeling cuz im a full time single father and work and school but hopefully when everything falls into place I'll have my ranch and the funds to go out and do what ever I want!

    I do love a good SCSB! I can also appreciate a full schedule, sounds like your have you hands full! Sending good vibes your way in hopes it all works out how you want it to! My 4 kiddos are the main reason I built this truck. My wife and Kiddos are on the trail with me 90% of the time, they love it and when we have breakdowns nothing teaches them how to be resourceful, solve problems and learn mechanics better than a trail repair!

    The best built f150 in Utah

    Haha. You're too kind, my friend. Maybe not the "best" but probably one of the more unique OBS builds.. If you still have your Jeep, we need to plan another weekend of wheeling!

    Really good video. Nice to see a good video of an obs ford doing this. I'm working on building mine to hopefully be able to do what ur doing. What kind of lift do u have and what size tires?

  • @MisfitOBS

    @MisfitOBS

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks, Ryan! The lift is a bit of a mix breed. The control arms and drop brackets are ProComp, the coils and leaf springs are Deaver and the shocks are custom tuned fox resies with adjustable compression from Accutune Off-road. Tip: The control arm bushings are Moog. They are softer and give the control arms better range of motion for better flex.

    Tires are 35x12.50r17. If I didn’t use it on the highway for overland trips, I’d probably run a 37s.

    Did you reinforce around the steering box and does this trucks frame flex at the front bumper?

  • @MisfitOBS

    @MisfitOBS

    Жыл бұрын

    I haven’t reinforced around the steering box but I am running a PSC steering pump. I do check frequently but no signs of stress cracks by the box so far. I don’t get any frame flex at the front bumper but that is probably impart by the heavy bumper; welded from 3/16 steel and gusseted where it bolts to the frame. However, I never noticed any flex with the stock bumper either. Only frame flex is between cab and bed. I may put in a support eventually..maybe…

    I’m in the works on planning to build my 96 into a dedicated trail rig, lockers, long arms, fender cut, 35s, flatbed. If you were to start out would you build the f150 again or would you start with a different vehicle?

  • @MisfitOBS

    @MisfitOBS

    100% the F150 again! Plenty of people will tell you the wheelbase is too long but I feel like that’s a bit of an ignorant statement, I wheel with a Jeep XJ regularly and the long wheelbase has been an advantage as much or more than it’s been a hindrance. Subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss the walk around I’m going to do soon.

    need some rock sliders guy, really easy to build for these and how i build them they double as cab to frame tie ins if you decide you wanna do that

  • @MisfitOBS

    @MisfitOBS

    10 ай бұрын

    You are 100% correct! The design I am considering sounds similar to what you are saying, they will bolt into the rocker panels of the cab. I don't need anything for super hard impacts, more along the line of lightly setting the cab on a rock and sliding down it. I already have two spots on my body I need to repair because I don't have a proper set of sliders!

    Seems pretty capable ? I'm looking at buying a 92 right now to do something similar

  • @MisfitOBS

    @MisfitOBS

    They can be really capable but takes some work if you want them to be a refined crawler. With these rigs, the brand and type of lift you put on it is going to SIGNIFICANTLY effect the ride and flex you get out of them. Best of luck with your build! It's definitely a process!

    I miss my 93 and never should’ve sold it…. Still blows my mind how much the obs frame flexes

  • @MisfitOBS

    @MisfitOBS

    92-96 are by far my favorite OBS years! The C-Channel frames are one of the things I love about these older fords; not great for towing and heavy loads but I probably get an extra few inches of "flex" in addition to my suspension!

    It’s a TruXedo TruXport Soft Roll Up Truck Bed Cover. Great value for the money. At the time, Amazon had the best price. I’ve since modified the bed rack and run the cover 100% of the time now.
