i just installed oblivion and started modding it yesterday.. and this popped up to my feed.. what a pleasant surprise

Minus the buxom weeaboo race addition and perhaps the added creatures, this looks like an excellent mod list! Very straight-forward, simple enhancements that elevate the game without getting too technical. Anymore I'm beginning to feel I'm better off modding Oblivion and revisiting it rather than trying to keep up with a perfect Skyrim load order.

EDIT: I see you use WalkBlessed. I will try that and hope it works! I do have a question. When I play NorthernUI with a gamepad, everything is good except that I get VERY janky movement when trying to walk either around or diagonally. How do you get smooth movement all around like your video shows, did it just work for you? I have seen other people report this issue in the NorthernUI comments but the author hasnt been around for awhile.

This is my first time hearing of NLBO, seems like a great mod. To this day everyone tells you just use Obscuro's and be done with it. I do wish there was a little more info, though.

Thanks for not using the unofficial oblivion patch. I'm I'm so frustrated that a lot of packs and modlists use this because if I don't want to use it it(mostly because I disagree with some of their balancimg decisions) I have to find out what else on that list is dependent on it and ignore those too.

Yes in the ENB you can adjust it, or like i do, just turn it off with one simple click. Imo it looks nicer without but on top of that, DOF really likes to hog resources.

Since you're using MO2 for Oblivion, I wanted to ask. What do you do about body mods similar to Exnem's EyeCandy? I cannot install it properly and every body mod in question so far gets destroyed. Could you give me a hint if you know, please?

Make sure you read up on all the stuff you might need for it. I'm not sure where it's going wrong for you as it was a simple plug and play for me personally. Make sure you have the needed skeleton and textures and to set your loading order proper. Another thing to look into for oblivion is wrye bash, making a bashed patch is pretty important for this game and you can add wrye bash to mo2 to have the two work together.

sadly some of the mods you recommend are broken, like the Stagger Recoil and HitStop just doesn't work at all, everyone in the mod comments also have no idea why that broke

Recently I've been using Monkey ENB while playing Oblivion Reload. I think it would be a good idea to try Monkey ENB.

1)Why should i install obse plugins in to data, instead of using MO2? I am doing this in Skyrim and it works like a charm. What is different here and why? It is a technical question, out of curiousity. 2) While i like the idea of enemies lvl independent of PC lvl, i see, that the author added some questionable things noone asked for, like out of place looking lore breaking monsters, he messed up PC skills progress too. Can anyone recommend the mod, that only editing the enemies lvl, and doing only that, without some "very" creative additional ideas? 3) How can i do proper archive invalidation by using MO2? Looks like this function (that you can choose in profiles) is good for nothing in this organiser, or i am doing something wrong? 4) This nothernui mod is poorly optimised for some wide screen monitors. 5) All other mods is must have indeed, imho, and working just fine.

I tried downloading the ENB dev thing for it and my computer told me that the site was unsafe, is there any other way to get it without risk of a virus?

For the people in the comments complaining about this not being the way they want Oblivion to be modded, try suggesting things you would like to see instead of being rude about the content of this video. A lot of people do enjoy this stuff and youtubers can't smell what your preference is. Be kind and remember that there is effort behind these video's, they are made to help people so don't be a poopiehead and act all insulted that others like to play their games different. Games are for enjoyment, not entitlement. Let people enjoy themselves.

I heard Bethesda was working on remastering oblivion. But no official word on it that I can find.

Probably because Skyblivion is getting closer to it's release and Bethesda wants as piece of that moneypie. Honestly i'd say just wait for Skyblivion, nothing Bethesda puts out could top what they're working on. Modders do a way better job at making these games shine than Bethesda themselves. They haven't brought out a single proper game for over a decade, it's not worth getting your hopes up. Skyblivion is legit, check it out, be amazed and get excited for that. It's going to be oblivion in the Skyrim engine.

Sorry but as a veteran oblivion player that is not the things I want changed or added. 😉 Good effort in the video. I think the only thing useful is the character movement.

As a veteran oblivion player, thats the things i want changed or added.

How do you avoid freezes? My copy of the game doesn't stress my pc in any way, but it freezes like it lacked RAM or VRAM. Currently running a RTX 3070 and 32 GB RAM

ENB has a build in enboost that you can configure in the the enblocal.ini. The 4gb patch is good but this gets the max out of your resources. At the VideoMemorySizeMb= you want to put in a number that you calculate by this sum: VRAM+RAM - 6 and multiply that number by 1024 to make it into MB. Get the mods Enginefixes, Enginebugfixes, and Displaytweak at least and see how that all together works. Preferably you want to start out your modding setup with all these fixes and then build on top to make sure everything works properly before you start adding more stuff to the game. There are plenty of little tweaks and stuff you could make on top of that but this would be a very solid start and honestly 100% mandatory on every modded Oblivion set up. Also don't forget to get the unofficial oblivion patch, Unofficial Shivering isles patch and the Unofficial DLC patch. These will fix a numerous amount of issues with your games that bethesda didn't bother to fix. Very important to install those for stability and overall enjoyment of your game. You'd want to do that all BEFORE adding other stuff, so i recommend to wipe your setup, i know it sucks but trust me, it's 100% worth on the long run since the bigger your save gets, the worse the issues become, so you want to start as clean as possible. If you follow this guide only, it will not provide a stable game in the long run, it's just a nice collection of mods to guide you in the right direction, not a complete solid setup.

Wondering if there's any kind of overhaul that replaces the terrible randomly generated dungeons with proper hand crafted ones. The game becomes so tedious quickly due to how often dungeon layouts repeat (specially the Oblivion gates)

In Oblivion, you can use dodge if your acrobatics skill is 50 or higher, and you can trigger dodge more easily through One-Touch Dodge mode. Thank you for watching.

Better make it with mod organizer you can also add other mods that you like MO2 is simple and there are a lot of tutorials mayority for skyrim but it’s almost same, better but difficult though is wrye bash, but there also tutorials

What about no recoil on block i cant stand that about oblivz

I would recommend against OBSE as that's obsolete, most newer mods use xOBSE.. soo if you encounter incompatibilities you'll know why. Also I'd recommend using GECKO sound overhaul, it's a little more newer. Texture packs are up to you tho, theirs a couple out there. I personally like the ones from Through the Valleys/Bevilex's Guide.

You can't change my mind, Oblivion is much better than Skyrim.

With all these mods and changes to make Oblivion feel like Skyrim.. Why not just play Skyrim? lol. I get the effort, but it changes too much of the art style and feel of oblivion. Some mods ruin the experience of Oblivion and makes certain things feel out of place, i.e. your character that you use. Doesn't fit the feel or art style of Oblivion. Thanks for the video though.

There seems to be some misunderstanding. If I had intended to make this game like Skyrim, I would have made the title like that from the beginning. Of course, I used Northern or Coffee UI for 360 degree movement, but that alone does not mean I was trying to make this game like Skyrim. To make this video, I remembered playing this game 16 years ago. Therefore, although there may be some areas that do not reflect the latest modes, we have selected and introduced to you the most efficient upgradeable modes for each category of Oblivion. Most of the videos on my channel introduce Skyrim-related mods, so most viewers think I mainly played Skyrim, but my first exposure to Bethesda games was through Oblivion in 2008, and at that time I was into Elder Scrolls.(For this part, If you click Oldest on my channel Video, you will find a video of me playing Oblivion modded 12 years ago.) I would like to reiterate that I have been playing the ultimately modded Oblivion already 15 years ago. Thank you for watching.

@@ARJARIM Lol. Look I wasn't trying to be snarky or toxic, really. I think it's awesome that there are still people talking about Oblivion, it's a game I absolutely love. I also install lots of mod in many games so no hate there. Your video is good, you show important mods and how they work on video, and many of these mods are old with no showcases. So thank you. And I know that modding games always comes down to preference. I just think that, apart from engine/bug fixes, script extenders and maybe controller support, too much modding can ruin the look and the feel of the original game, and it's not always obvious what get lost in the process. Those textures, those mechanics, were chosen for a reason. In the end everyone decides how to play their game. Here you go phrased it better. I'll still judge other people taste tho.

Adding a race to the game goes beyond overhauling the game. Graphics and quality of life mods are one thing but screwing with the games lore and story are really annoying to see in an overhaul video. I guess some people are true Elder Scrolls fans and others are just casuals who don't care about the Elder Scrolls universe.

Do not use Northern UI like wtf? Oblivion really had one major problem with the interface. Aesthetically, everything was far beyond Morrowind. But functionally, it was much worse than Morrowind. Morrowind was not that great functionally, but far better than Oblivion. Then there's Skyrim which was another devolution making things much much worse both aesthetically and functionally from Oblivion.

This is not at all how I'd mod this game. NorthernUI and CoffeeUI turn this game into Stardew Valley, when what it needs is less Bloom, way less HDR, less anti-aliasing effects, higher textures, better texture mapping, ambient occlusion, improved mesh and heightmap, and a weather and graphics system that's not as flat or nearly as saturated (thanks to aforementioned Bloom and HDR). I have spent 17 years playing this game with NO MODS. But So far I am disappointed by this video because it doesn't really capture even the essence or the point of what Oblivion modding is supposed to be, which is a consummate repairing of the game originally shipped to us in 2006. Because that game was a buggy mess that visually was rendered and created using assets and middleware that should honestly never have been used to make a game the way this was made. That's the unique part about Oblivion though. You have to then determine what you want to sacrifice in order to maintain or remove that sense of originality- or to some, its gallant hideousness.

Modding (which means modifying) a game isn't just about fixing it, it's about changing it into what you want whether that is only fixing it or completely overhauling it. Just because you prefer something else that doesn't mean this is not what it's supposed to be. I'm disappointed by the ignorance and elitism of this comment but that doesn't mean the comment section isn't made for you to comment like this. She asked you what you want as well, a better way of giving criticism would be to kindly ask for video on the topics you prefer, not just complaining and acting like your preference is the only way to play a game when all she wanted to do is help people that ARE interested in doing it like this. Clearly you don't want to MODIFY your game, you want to improve performance, so go look for a video that provides that or have the decency to just ask kindly for another video.
