You can actually befriend him with the social mini-game, but companions weren't fully implemented in Oblivion afaik, you'd need a mod to bring him along.

Would be cool like Bandit: “this is a hold up, 100 gold or else…” >(100 gold) here you go >refuse >(1000 gold) or I could offer you this to fight by my side. Depending on the previous disposition they had they’d either react badly by attacking you realizing how rich you are, or get astonished that you’re offering so much for (somewhat) honest work and thank you if disposition is moderate to high.

Oblivion has a beautiful scenery. When I was bored I used to go to the small island on the river south of Anvil, and just let the time pass, while looking around. Just like going to the beach, but without the sunburn (unless your character was a vampire).

I haven't played Oblivion but I do that with Skyrim and enjoy the scenery without the frostbite. I just love forests with pine trees. So peaceful...

And that moment when the room turned to butterflies and revealed the LSD kaleidoscope that is the shivering isles, I have never forgotten. Best Elder Scrolls game of them all imo

No bullshit I’ve seen a guy get robbed and ask the guy for directions afterwards lmao if you’ve ever been to north Philly, you’ll get this.

Vanilla/Unmodded Oblivion with it's distinct, stretched texture graphics has its own calming, soothing effect that goes well with the BGM and top-of-the-command-line AI. Todd and co spilled paint on the canvas, and it all landed beautifully.

Also, a lot of bandits probably just want to help themselves and have no loyalty to each other, just trying to put food in their bellies. You paid him so he really has no reason to hate you, and see you suffer at the hands of others, so he gives you a little tip to stay clear. Maybe I’m too optimistic about this but I doubt most bandits are just evil for the sake of evil

Makes total sense. Stops other bandits robbing, giving him more people to steal from with more coin. He is a genius.

It's something very comedic with the constant dramatic zoom-ins on goofy faces.

I always loved it when Villainous/Scripted to be hostile on sight NPCs can be pacified and you can grind your speech on them and they have rumors and thoughts they can share to you. This video happened to me and I Leveled up by uping my Speech on him.

Never had another game give me that super intense feeling of nostalgia! It ain't even my first game. Sometimes I just turn it on, put my headphones on and walk around Cyrodiil for hours on end.

The AI is cringeworthy, but funny as hell.

I remember paying the bandit 100 gold and quickly talked to him with that speech craft minigame. Bribed the khajiit and now all he does is stand by an abandoned fort with a perplexed look. He's happy to see me, but damn, when you become a bandit to rob the hero of kvatch, to only have the hero pay you to get some reputation points.

This paints treasure hunters in a new light…

A treasure hunter definitely killed this man’s rich parents and stole all their fortune resulting in him ultimately becoming a bandit just to get by.
