I noticed the same thing here. It's interesting, because she shows a picture with her and Michelle Obama12:50, and you can clearly see the difference. @Ben Miller but neither competent nor skilful. Which does make a difference. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan of the Democratic establishment. They are on the right wing (when looking at the entire political compass, not just the excessively narrow Overton Window of the US), and I am most certainly not. But competence, intelligence, eloquence, they do all matter. They were things Obama had, and that Trump does not. Does that make the neoliberal, neo-colonial, imperialist state of the USA something I think is okay? Definitely not. Beau of the Fifth Column released a video today about the difference between the two parties. And he is a far left anarchist, so he’s no fan of the Democrats either. But he recognises that even a difference in rhetoric matters. Are they both neoliberal corporate imperialists? Yes, yes they are. But there are policy differences between them, and massive differences in rhetoric. That matters.

You have to see the episode to understand why she did that. In his first campaign for President, something happened with his tie, and he had to borrow another tie. His staff looked at it as a good luck charm. So when he ran for his second term, his wife tried to recreate that same magic. But I agree with you...not the smartest thing to do right before the debate.

I do believe the next president after trump, Republican or democratic, this new year or in 4 years will treat our country dignity and integrity that we've been missing (embarrassingly so) to not be soooooo divided. We'll be back to some what a respectable country. 🇺🇸

@@lynnchotoocho9713 It doesn't seem like there is any question of legality surrounding the building of another fence. CNN reported on it and didn't mention that it was illegal. Also a fence can be taken down, it is not an alteration to the house itself, rather its perimeters. Technically every president is allowed to make changes to the inside of the White House, though if the change is to a historic room on the ground or first floor, they would have to consult the Committee for the Preservation of the White House. So presidents are allowed to act like they own the White House in that regard.

As feel-good as "Dave" was (loved that movie when it came out), it's sort of a case of 'robbing Peter to pay Paul'. We all love to hate on military-industrial complex spending, but the truth is that it employs tens of thousands of regular Americans. By cutting contracts to save shelters in the short term, they may well be causing thousands to be laid off and sent into the welfare system in the long term. . My point is not that I know better than the movie, but rather that I concur with Ms. Jarrett in that a lot more due diligence is needed before such decisions are made. Spur of the moment emotional decisions can have long-lasting, often unforeseen, consequences, both for better and for worse.
