Not even to keep his job. He could have had a deal with Democrats from day #1 to save him in exchange for Ukraine aid, _and_ include border policies in the bill. What we see is the classical example of someone who overplayed his hand and got a much less for it.

I feel so bad for all of them I live in a very blue state where women can still get care, however, if my state wasnt like that my friend would have been in extreme danger with her miscarriage. She wanted the baby but had fertility issues to begin with and lost it while being overworked at her job. Thankfully there's care in my state so she got the treatment she needed and has been recovering

Reminds me of the school shooting where the cops were afraid to try to apprehend 1 gunman with an assault rifle. It took them over an hour. I’ve seen them in my community as well, in those huge ridiculous trucks (obviously them trying to overcompensate for you know what 😉) and they roar their engines and swerve TOWARDS minorities. Just the other day I witnessed this and it was just a kid, a pre-teen/teenager who was scared so badly she tripped on the sidewalk. She could have tripped and fell into freaking traffic. With our laws, they can run for office from prison. Case in point: Right after she went public, Stormy Daniels tried to leave the country and enter Canada. A still unknown person in the Trump DOJ had put out many false warrants for her arrest and she was detained by the Canadian border patrol. You can’t get a federal job with a criminal history. They investigate potential staff for certain positions out the wazoo for employment. I was interviewed for a close friend they were considering for an IT position. Another I know was almost denied due to a relative with a felonious history used their address. They had that information updated and verified as the individual was deceased. Currently, that person is employed in the DOD. This strategy should be applied to anyone seeking governing in the United States. They need to investigate them like they do for Supreme Court nominees.

Johnson did NOT "put politics aside," he made damn sure to cover his behind first.

I just cannot imagine that many women will vote away their freedoms and rights.

Are you aware that the vast, vast majority of dwellers in trailer parks do not own the land their homes are on?! They are at the mercy of the land owner who usually manages their trailer court. More and more, these land owners are selling out to corporations who want to use that land to develop more lucrative real estate options like mass apartment complexes and business parks. It is a huge moneymaker for those who enjoy taking away low-income and middle-income trailer owners. The residents cannot even afford to move their living quarters, so must leave the trailers there. Also, numerous trailer park residents do offer to buy the land that their landowner/park manager has for sale. Usually, they are refused, in order for the seller of the property to get more money from big developers. Then, the park residents lose the tiny amount of green grass and tree that was once a joy to have. Please reconsider your statement. Besides, MTG's father made millions in construction. She comes from a wealthy background.

But there ARE stereotypical "TYPES" of people who, rightly or wrongly, are sometimes called "trailer trash," for living in slum conditions of their own making, remaining ignorant of facts or even much or the world around them, for whatever reasons or circumstances. They may live in trailers, houses, apartments, or the streets; it's irrelevant. So is ANY amount of money they may have or make. It's not their living conditions defined by the term, it's a mentality of complete ignorance, thoughtlessness, carelessness and sometimes just pure arrogance, as in MTG's case. Again, rightly or wrongly, a very common term for them is "trailer trash," and admit it, we ALL know who that term refers to. MTG could be a classic example of that type of person. I'm afraid I couldn't agree more, & perhaps if MTG's family has a wealthy background, it could explain how she's bought her way so deeply into Congress. I don't think, in time, that any amount of money will save her "political career;" after a while people see through people like her and her ignorant little gang of selfish misfits.

The problem with some people in Congress is they don’t have a clue about the World at large! They think we are all alone in the universe and nothing impacts Our lives and Our Country! They all need to take classes on our involvement in the World as a whole!

I hate to sound old, when I was in 7th grade Civics and Government were taught and there was a test before summer break; same in 8th grade Civics and Government and a test before graduation. I don’t think it is the same now, but it should be.

He finally came to whatever senses he must have, most likely though guilty conscience. I'd give him a small credit for that, because he finally had to admit the disastrous effect of what he, in "obeying" frump, was having. It's STILL far too little, FAR too late, and he, frump, and all the maggots, DO have the blood of many 1000s on their hands. It will not wash off easily, or ever.

What changed was MGT was told if she brought him down, 2 republicans would resign giving congress to the Dems. It meant he could do the right thing without consequences.
