    this is a special video because this song changed everything. its one of the most performed songs in the uk and made countless young people pick up a guitar and learn to play. they were accessible and relateable and inspiring.

    It's interesting how the variations of the chords are very slightly different on this version compared to the rest of them that were played afterwards. This was probably the very original way he wrote it.

    That's the thing. Singers always add little things and change the intonation and such, thus over time it goes through the wash so much it ends up being a cover version of a cover version and is it even the same song anymore? As a thought experiment - Ship of Theseus.

    @Vacuum Boots - Agree completely! I know this is 3 yrs old - but I agree completely! I think Noel sings Wonderwall better than Liam does - this version I prefer to the one Noel does with HFB. I think Liams' voice is better suited to Don't look back in anger and he would've killed it during his heyday! But I do really, really love Noel singing DLBIA though.

    oh you serious? Ha-ha, it's a classic tune and would have probably been even better if Noel sung it. Liam pulled a mardy and Noel gave in. Noel sings it with way more meaning, wrote for Meg Matthews originally and one of the best songs of the past 30 years, just over played to the extreme.

    Seriously doubting if you heard the performance above. He did just fine. And while Liam's voice's a definite character, can't dismiss how well Noel sang here. So I'm sure the tune would've still held it's phenomenal merit if they released it as Noel's voice like here.

    Turns out Liam hated wonderwall and called it trip hop!! He wanted to do don’t look back in anger but Noel told him he wasn’t doing both as was so pissed off with Liam walking off of the stage and leaving him to pick up the gig!He actually said he shouldn’t have sung either as he wasn’t a great singer back then!

    Liam’s tastes are so narrow, he never liked any dance music or anything that wasn’t traditional rock n roll. One of the reasons Noel wanted to go solo in the end, he had to push against Liam to do anything musically different.
