Lyrics:
I need to be myself
I can't be no one else
I'm feeling supersonic
Give me gin and tonic
You can have it all but how much do you want it?
You make me laugh
Give me your autograph
Can I ride with you in your B.M.W?
You can sail with me in my yellow submarine
You need to find out
'Cause no one's gonna tell you what I'm on about
You need to find a way for what you want to say
But before tomorrow
'Cause my friend said he'd take you home
He sits in a corner all alone
He lives under a waterfall
Nobody can see him
Nobody could ever hear him call
Nobody could ever hear him call
You need to be yourself
You can't be no one else
I know a girl called Elsa
She's into Alka Seltzer
She sniffs it through a cane on a supersonic train
And she makes me laugh
I've got her autograph
She done it with a doctor on a helicopter
She's sniffin in her tissue
Sellin' the Big Issue
When she finds out
No one's gonna tell her what I'm on about
You need to find a way for what you wanna say
But before tomorrow
'Cause my friend said he'd take you home
He sits in a corner all alone
He lives under a waterfall
Nobody can see him
Nobody could ever hear him call

It's a good song and starts off strong but the instruments are boring and slow in places and good in others. The meaning of the song is also good and bad. The chorus is strong and catchy but the other stuff is bs. Talking about cocaine and being lonely. OH YEAH GREAT SONG!!!!

if you like this you might like my brother’s music. his name is Stu Morris and 'Murder the Ghost' is a good song by him.
This song will be what I think of Oasis forever. Too cool to care about anything or anyone. Just themselves and their top music.
This better be played at my funeral or I ain’t coming.

People talk a lot of shit about Oasis now. Back in the day they were great & this music is still fucking epic.
Noels guitar tone on this is outstanding. Such a groove of a song
they made this song in 11 hours and they never remixed it. that's some confidence for your first single.

Just think: this was their first release. Talk about hitting your stride immediately! It charted moderately, but the glove had been thrown down. All the elements that make Oasis so electrifying were right here. Fooking magic!
I remember thinking how timeless this song was in 1994. Just checked in 2023, and yep; still timeless.

Why do people always refer to oasis as being simple? What’s that direct comparison? What so much better and so much more complex , and why, and how? Radiohead will get brought up, they’re great btw, but aren’t much more prog stuff. Radioheads earlier stuff is very similar, just not as good. Any why is prog so good anyway ? I’m sure a lot of people on here work for the guardian.
Oasis are so pure sounding
