I met Tony McCarroll (original Oasis drummer in this video) a few year back just by chance. He gave me a lift back from Manchester. I didn't have a clue who he was, just thought he was a driver for the utilities company I was doing work for at the time. I asked him about his driving job and he told me it was a stop gap as he was a musician first and foremost. I asked what instrument he plays. He replied "the drums". I then asked if he'd drummed for any well know bands. He replied "yes Oasis." He then told me some of the story behind them starting the band before Noel joined and then went on to the reason why they sacked him from the band. It seemed like there was a lot of animosity between Tony and Noel at the time so Noel kicked him out using the reason he wasn't a good enough drummer ,which apparently wasn't the case. Tony came over as a really nice bloke. Very easy to talk to.

One of their best songs. The best Oasis song of all time. Oasis can make you feel sentimental about a time when you are not even born yet. It's a song that gives me courage when I don't have courage. Noel just has the most amazing voice, and writes the most amazing songs.

The best part is the second chorus where he sings “whatever” in higher notes.It was featured on a TV ad. That was when I first fell in love with the band. Goosebumps.

This song is an absolute masterpiece. I remember the impact it had on me when I first heard it. I can never get tired of this song, and now my son absolutely loves it.

I'm 35 now but when I heard this I was 17 and I felt alive for the first time when I heard this song. Oasis brought us all together. Working class lads from the North, working class lads from the south, everyone in England loved Oasis. Oasis broke (and will continue to)break up so many fights in pubs. Just play ' Wonderwall' or ' Don't Look Back In Anger' and everyone will stop fighting and just sing along (usually lol). You don't top the buzz of seeing Oasis live unless you've seen your children being born.

This video feels probably one of the most up-close and personal from the band. Its just a bunch of lads getting together to play a song for a shoot and having a good time instead, i love it.

@Liam Slater ok ok ok the piano melody has similar notes and at the beginning of “its sweet to be an idiot” it cuts off as “I’m freeeeeee” is longer than ”its sweet to be an idiot” so please don’t say it’s a clone and whatever needs to be more appreciated

Noel was usually drunk/stoned in gigs in the 90s. He didn't have Liams talent for singing whilst inebriated so that's why his singing sucked live.

My only regret is that i didnt realise the 90s would come to an end at some point. If I'd known it, I would have gone even harder. There were days, weeks, and years in the 90s that I couldn't believe that life could be this good. And my mates felt the same.

This song played before my Brother's funeral a couple of weeks ago. I stood by the hearse waiting for the rest of the carriers to arrive while everyone walked into the crematorium. It was a stunning day despite being in Edinburgh, in May, & when the last bars played with just the strings I lost it. It was so perfect. Songs & bands like this don't exist any more. My Brother lived a full life & saw Oasis several times in concert. No regrets except selfish ones for myself. RIP Brother, gone too soon.
