I love how a lot of things are so easily accessible because of the internet and so on and so on. In some aspects I do agree with you tho. You've put the album on and rocked your way through 'Hello' and 'Roll with it'; things are going pretty well by any album's standards. Then you're clobbered over the head with 'Wonderwall', immediately followed by 'Don't look back in anger.' Is it any wonder you overlooked how utterly glorious track 5 on the album is? This is one of their very best.

Hey now, slide away and Sunday morning call
The most underated song by OASIS. Just a classic. What a memories, what a great times...
I hitched a ride with my soul By the side of the road Just as the sky turned black I took a walk with my fame Down memory lane I never did find my way back You know that I gotta say time's slipping away And what will it hold for me What am I gonna do while I'm looking at you You're standing ignoring me I thought that I heard someone say now There's no time for running away now Hey now! Hey now! Feel no shame - cos time's no chain Feel no shame The first thing I saw As I walked through the door Was a sign on the wall that read It said you might never know That I want you to know What is written inside of your head And time as it stands Won't be held in my hands Or living inside of my skin And as it fell from the sky I asked myself why Can I never let anyone in? I thought that I heard someone say now There's no time for running away now Hey now! Hey now! Feel no shame - cos time's no chain Feel no shame I hitched a ride with my soul By the side of the road Just as the sky turned black I took a walk with my fame Down memory lane I never did find my way back You know that I gotta say time's slipping away And what will it hold for me What am I gonna do while I'm looking at you You're standing ignoring me I thought that I heard someone say now There's no time for running away now Hey now! the band had trouble getting the drumming right live on stage with this song cos of the drumming starts/stops before a new verse in the song ( albeit alan white being a great drummer) I read somewhere that cos of the odd timing mishap when rehearsing it they left it off when playing live, plus even during this period of the band the song choice for live songs were huge, must have been a headache!
My favourite oasis song 🏆
My father gave me his old car, my first, in early 1996. An early 80's Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. I soon upgraded the sound system. Spent the summer cruising around blasting the album and this song. I felt like I was on top of the world.
I just love Oasis music with all my heart

This song evokes you something really nostalgic. Like if you listen to this song almost everyday in a certain time of your life, it will make you shiver if you listen to it again some years later. It has something very special, like a youth fantasy in which you're experiencing the world in a cool way. Having said that, it still has some melancholy and loneliness in it. Amazing song.

No other art form can project emotion like that!? Other than music.. Even a great painter? Still needs u too look into his work too feel the energy he felt making it.. I kno I feel very diff at 30 then I did at 16.. However I wrote some my best stuff at that age! Its crazy how when I'm playing, specially on stage! I feel exactly like I did the day I wrote it.. For my generation born in 1973 he really is the best singer of all time! The brothers are everything to me. The music of my life. True Rock stars. God, I love this song.
This song gives me the feeling of wanting to break away from something or somewhere that you're no longer wanting anymore. You want something more from life, and you're just about on that road to finding it, it's just round that corner.

How Noel and the lads never played this live even once is beyond me. What a beautiful and open song.

I sang this for my graduation class that's only been 7 years but I think I turned some people to this version and hope it brings them the same joy of time and self reflection this song brings to me. And takes them back to simple times of our youth in school. I think that's why I chose this to play.

Has to be one of the greatest songs ever written, those words just hit you it’s one of the most underrated classics they ever did, fucking amazing
I was a total rave kid but at Glastonbury 94, while on the old Leeds combo (LSD and 2 E's), a mate dragged me to see a band he claimed was amazing. That band was Oasis. Totally changed my music taste instantly. Later on an Oasis song literally saved my life. But that's another story.
Almost 2 AM and I discovered this half an hour ago. Physically impossible to stop.
One of their best. Great vocals.
"What am I gonna do while I'm looking at you You're standing ignoring me" kills me.......
Cheers from Argentina!

best oasis song
This songs about Noel leaving oasis after the disastrous gig in LA where he moved to one of his flings apartment ‘avoiding the storm’ the chorus is almost as if the band is trying to talk him back into it saying there’s no point running away.
This sounds like an ending to a series
Im a huge Oasis fan since i was 13. Im 19 now and after listening to all the songs they have made i gotta say that theres no such song that makes me so happy as hey now i dont know why. 5 years being my favourite song and listening to it daily. Favourite song by my favourite band in my favourite album
I took a walk with my fame down memory lane. I never did find my way back. Those lyrics are relevant to both the Gallagher Brothers today. As much as I love this band. It’s hard to not admit that they’re stuck in the 90s but then again who else wouldn’t be, I was like six when the band broke up so I never truly got to experience the height of their fame in the mid to late 90s but from what I’ve seen in documentaries and firsthand accounts from them it was pretty wild still a great fucking beer no matter what anyone says rock ‘n’ roll for life
