‘Be Here Now’ was released on 21st August 1997 and followed the success of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’, Oasis’ biggest selling album and the record that broke them globally. The previous summer, Oasis played to more than 250,000 people over two nights at Knebworth, with an astounding 2.5 million people applying for tickets. Released at midnight on Thursday 21st August 1997, at a time when most albums were released on Monday, ‘Be Here Now’ sold a staggering 400,000 copies on the first day in the UK, with 663,400 sales in just 3 days. It was No.1 in fifteen countries and remained at the top of the UK Album Chart for 4 weeks. To date, it has the most album sales in the first seven days of release in UK Official Chart history, and has sold over 8 million copies globally.

Thats the one thing it wasn't... good but by no means great. Songs were over-produced, too long and even the band members try to forget about it now. A shame given the hype and the potential behind it :(

I THINK SOTSOG IS A GREAT ALBUM AS WELL AS "BE HERE NOW". USUALLY WHAT IS PUT DOWN AT FIRST EVENTUALLY GROWS ON YOU RATHER THAN THE ONES THAT INSTANTLY GRIP, TAKE "MORNING GLORY", I THINK BE HERE NOW IS WELL BETTER THAN THAT ALBATROSS.

Nope. That song is called "Little James" it's a uplifting song about a little boy in the same way Hey Jude is.
I keep hearing All Around the World by Oasis in every AT&T ad back in the mid 2000s. Now, I found it!

Liam is absolutely stunning in this video and def one of my fav Oasis songs!! I love that nod that Liam give Noel towards the end of the video. There is something about that nod that touches me

For me, the Bohemian Rhapsody of the 90's. Noise, excess and rock&roll. It reminds me George Harrison style and sound.

This Oasis song puts me in a good mood. The naaa na na na na na naaaa reminds me of the song Hey Jude by The Beatles.
Amazing thing about this song is that it was an OLD Oasis tune. Earliest documentation of it was from the "Definitely Maybe" rehearsals and playing. They had held onto it for a while, and during the excess of "Be Here Now" it resurfaced as this 7 minute, orchestrally arranged monster.

The reason I love this so much is because it’s unique. 7 minutes, 3 tunes, and weird sightings in the video. Also with the three tunes, there’s more smaller tunes within. Thank you, Liam.

I was 19 when this come out. Mobile phones weren’t like they are now..very early stages and the internet wasn’t really a thing.No you tube etc I remember watching this video when they showed it on Top Of The Pops.Which,for those who don’t know,was a huge tv show that counted down the top 40 singles of that week. The song still sounds so fresh..it reminds me of getting drunk in pubs on hot summers nights wearing kangol hats without a care in the world..putting oasis on the jukebox..me and my mates would put on the entire album on between us all night..great days ✌🏾
