I'm from Oakville. Oakville has been destroyed by rampant spread of suburbs . I could also tell you stories that would bring Oakville down from it's high horse. Not happy destroying Oakville , they went and destroyed Bronte too . Although , getting rid of that noisy oil refinery was a good thing .

Thank you so much for your comment! It’s great to hear stories from locals. I’ve been to Oakville twice and I love the calm atmosphere and nice people there so much! I do noticed there is a real estate agency every few hundred meters in downtown Oakville. After travelling around the world more, I realized almost all the big cities and small towns are getting more similar, not like 15 or 20 years ago. I guess that’s the deep sadness of capitalism : (

It has nothing to do with capitalism and everything to do with progress and with people wanting to move into town and destroy my beautiful part of the town (Bronte) although the only good part of downtown is where our boat is at the power boat club

@@OfficialMichaelL some places in Bronte are exactly the same . The pioneer cemetary at the end of west street , Bronte creek marshland , the little beach park , and the Marina , but most of what Bronte was is gone . The lakeshore hwy going out of town east used to be gravel for a stretch if you can believe that and there were still old orchards everywhere. There were no suburbs anywhere near Bronte at first but you could see them getting closer and closer from a distance until most of the farm part of Bronte was suburbs. I kinda wish it had stayed the way it was. It is mostly unrecognizable when I do a google street view now.
