It took place in a small village (pop. circa 600) called Oakamoor, on the river Churnet, in the Staffordshire Moorlands district. It's an interesting place, nestled in a steep valley. Used to have two pubs - The Cricketers Arms and The Lord Nelson, but the latter closed a few years ago iirc. There's evidence it's had iron-working activity on and off since the thirteenth century.

The trouble with alot of the older specialist marques is that alot of the expert mechanics are now retiring and with it goes their expertise. They could recommend what parts to use and not everyone can afford to send their car to some specialist mob like crostwaithe and gardiner, Im afraid in the next 30 years alot of the prewar iron is going to become museum pieces as the grandkids arent interested in them and they are worth over 100 grand so im not taking it a risk with it outside...

Sadly from 2030 on all the combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one single state operated peoples gas station per city. :-(

Not true. Production of combustion engine driven cars will end in 2030 and in 2050 they will be banned from traffic. In Germany the Green Party is not in the position to give any order. In case the green party will get government contract, they will fulfill the already by grand coalition decided carbon tax based price increase as soon as possible. There is no such plan like reducing petrol stations as none of them are state operated. They habe never been. State price fixing endes in the early 1980s. Greetings from Germany

Its not an episode of Top Gear - these people own, cherish and love their cars and want to keep them that way - I once mistakenly lent a car to TG and it came back broken - and no they didn't pay for the damage - these cars need looking after and driven this way with some moderate briskness they will - also it is difficult to determine the incline on film - this is avery steep incline - and these people are not racing drivers they are just ordinary passionate enthusiasts with no points to prove. Enjoy it for what it is and if you don't find it fast enough try drag racing?

it's an informal day out, not a full on competition. classic cars made work a bit harder than they usually do, very nice to see. for speed, go to santa pod when top fuel is on, standing still to 300 MPH in less than 4 seconds.
