The entire last episode had me tearing up pretty badly and I rarely ever cry. Damn, what an experience. Also, I subconsciously read the "me, you, us" in Jamie's accent, really left a mark on me

This song sounds like the beginning of a Witcher quest. "A Tree within the forest kills anything that goes near it. The Witcher hears a tale, of how two lovers lay beneath the tree until they both fall silent. So going into the woods the Witcher finds the tree, but entangled within its roots is a lone Maiden. But no lover. Geralt deduced that the man ran away, heart broken the spirit inhabits the tree, looking for the lover."

I'm happy more are going to uncover both this brilliant song (the cover here and the original), as well as may prompt more to check out the 1961 The Innocents film (which is where this song is from, which was a film adaption of The Turn of the Screw, the same book that The Haunting of Bly Manor is loosely adapting). The theme was very important to the film, and I'm delighted that Bly Manor seems to be retaining the melody in their own adaption.

It's beautiful but after watching The Haunting of Bly Manor it just gives me the creepy vibe 😂😂

I get that people may find it creepy but when you take the time to read the lyrics there’s nothing creepy about it it’s just very sad and beautiful

This song reminds me of a poem I wrote once for school, my teachers liked it; and said it reminds them of the scene from Hamlet where Ophelia is found drowned in the pond during the second act of the play. I hadn't seen or read Hamlet yet.

Even if it's originally sang for halloween.. I find it more... sad rather than scary, everytime I hear the notes it's just the feeling of sadness, loneliness and deep thinking stage that reaches me again and again. I found the song today, and I'm really happy for it :D

Here i am in 2024 about to watch Bly for the third time in its entirety, I cant explain , this show did made me feel so many emotions, not to big to admit i cried like a baby to some parts, i think when youve experienced love & indeed loss though that is to be expected.

The song is really beautiful, it both relieves and emotional.
