If there’s one thing Magnus had over everyone is STAMINA. Dude could play gruesome 4-5hr games for 3 weeks str8 woth some games going 7-8hrs, and still have enough stamina to play another classical tourney IMMEDIATELY back to back. Ding is World Champion but he doesnt have stamina. Neither does Ian. They can play 1-2 long games but after that they’d need their rest. So having said that, who the hell does everyone thinks they are saying “Ding sucks, Ding weak, Ding not WCC worthy” as if they didnt realize both him and Ian came out of their 3.5 weeks of gruesome chess, having 1 week of rest between the WCC and this tourney. With the amount of stamina and energy drained from the WCC, they shouldve skipped this tourney. To put it into perspective, super gm’s burn 6000 calories when they’re playing their insanely long matches. Think aboout that u bums.

He and Nepo are clearly not in the state of classical games. Their body languages and their interviews show they are extremely exhausted.

As the world champion, Ding has a huge target on his back and players are bringing the fight to him. Next candidates cycle, we get to find out if he’s a paper champion

Could someone please tell Ding Liren that losing to Anish "King of Draws" Giri is conduct unbecoming a world champion. Just kidding; we all know that, when in good form, Giri carries quite a punch, as one Magnus would attest.

I don't think Anish could calculate the engine line, but I think some strong players would play it. The moves all seemed very logical and natural

lol a 900 saying that anish wouldnt calculate those lines , those lines are inhuman and rightly so even magnus wouldn't have played rook to f1 on move 16

Basic beginner mistake. Never play G5 when you castle your king. Play G5 first and once the bishop moves then castle….in such positions
