I like the fact they offer just the panel alone, I have been using the same arm for several years and don't need any more stands to add to my collection.
@MrGrimsmith
Жыл бұрын
Likewise, I've been using the same pair of mounts for a decade now and they're definitely not in need of replacement. The bracket also looked to be a direct clone of the ones that Dell use on their Ultrasharp range so it may be possible to repurpose old stands too.
@Wrigglevision

Also helps that apparently the panel itself is lightweight.
Hey Jay (and everyone), the 32" is a VA panel, so that's why it didn't seem exactly the same as the 27" one

VA panels typically have better contrast than IPS. The 32 has a much more washed out color pallet than the 27, further leading me to believe if the 32" is a VA panel its a very BAD one at that.

@@broderp Yep, I like VA panels since they get darker. I kind think the worse contrast on this one is a result of the curved screen reflecting more light.

Hey Jay, loving how your sets/rooms designed are going. Looks fresh, very modern , and awesomely eye candy! Can wait for the final process, and when it is done, please do a tour! You guys are great, and always love your contents!
I still feel like NZXT lost an opportunity by not making the arm mounts also in white, I would overspend to finally have a good quality pure white arm mount
I like that they didnt just decide to make monitors, they also did something new with the modular thing, and i like that too
Yeah I agree about the optional monitor stand. In many cases for high end monitors people will have a better stand or arm or whatever else already
The biggest "problem" with these monitors is that they expose just how unnecessarily ridiculous monitor names are. [Noun]-[Number]-[Letter], where the number is the screen diameter and the letter is the resolution (H = HD, F = FHD, Q = QHD, and U = UHD). If it's an ultrawide, slap a "-UW" on the end! Not too hard!

Good to see a company doing this with their monitors they sell. If I had known about this earlier I probably would not have purchased an LG Ultragear 32gp83b. My build is now almost complete, just need to get the parts for a custom loop.

@@district444 Depends on who puts those components together... you missed the point. I am trying to figure out if Qisda, Hongfujin, Dongguan, All Technology, TPV Electronics, L&T Display Technology or Suzhou Raken make the monitors for NZXT. Like they do for most of the other companies, "making" monitors. HP, Samsung, and LG actually make monitors. This is like saying Solar makes Solar Guitars - ah no... they spec them and might quality check them, but they are definitely made by a separate company in Indonesia.
That was the best intro I have ever seen on youtube. Some amazing film work *chef's kiss*
The 27” is IPS; the 32” is VA. That probably accounts for the differences in picture quality that Jay was noticing.
09:22 HDMI 2.0 fully supports HDR at up to 4K60hz, and can even do 1440p120 HDR, you only need HDMI 2.1 for 4K120 HDR and VRR. And I'm not sure that the monitor will be able to use Display Port over USB-C and USB peripherals over the same connection, most DP over USB-C monitors only allow display/charging over the USB-C connection, and you still need to use the other USB (B/A) connection for the USB hub.
I just bought this tonight for $289.99 for the 32 Inch one without the stand. After extensive research comparing price point and picture quality for what else is out there, I think this is a great deal for either of the 32 or 27 inch for $289.99 compared to others in the same ball park.

I just received my Canvas 27Q which I bought during NZXT's Black Friday sale. I paid just over $200 and I think I got an excellent deal. I've placed this next to my Mac Studio and using it as an extended display and it works fantastic. The brightness is just fine and once I initially set it up, there's no need to mess with it further. @@SuaveyMojo I love it. Only issue I’ve had is a bug with the NZXT CAM software that I’ve submitted a ticket to support about; I have two displays and my NZXT Canvas is display 1. If I tell Windows to only use display 2 while display 1/Canvas is in standby but still plugged in, it causes CAM to keep searching for display 1/Canvas over and over. This causes stuttering during gaming and general use. I have to physically disconnect the Canvas monitor so CAM stops searching for it. Screen mirroring to both displays works fine, and of course so does using the Canvas by itself. It’s only when I’m using my non-NZXT display by itself. It’s weird. Other than that CAM software bug though, it’s been excellent! Great color and white uniformity, and the Freesync works with my Nvidia card.

Have to agree with the people posting about not adding a monitor stand. I have thrown away many and think it's a waste of money and material. For the last decade I've been using 2 Ergotron wall mounted monitor arms for my PC uses and they're solid, well built and would never think of using anything else. (I got them as reclaimed material used in a test build where I work).

I agree, Since building my first PC, I've been through 4 monitors. 2 lower end Philips monitors that I immediately put onto a dual monitor arm, a high end samsung monitor (which damn it had a gorgeous stand that was sturdy, amazing to move and allowed me to flip orientation). Which also went on an arm, and a viewsonic gaming monitor that had a base that was definitely "gamery", once again arm. Ive also bought 4 monitors for my little brother and wife, all of which also went on arms. So yeah, 8/8 monitors spent 0 time on the arms I still have in a box in the garage
I am with you on the 32" should have a non-curved option - for the price without the stand, it's a good deal (looks like all the stands I have for my Acer and Dell panels would work with it as well - also have some Vivo Arms as an option). Also it's looking like AOC's OEM is the one who made these - the lightness is due to using an external power source (I prefer one's built in due to the cabling if you lose the cable).
I recently bought this one to go with my nzxt computer and I really like it other than having “hdmi 1” pop up on my screen every hour other than that it’s amazing and I love it
i have a Vivo Stand V002f Duel Led Lcd Monitor stand i had bought from amazon and it has done very well holding up both of my monitors without a problem for 11 months
Agreed on the Curve, my 34"(32" wide including bezel, not the curve) 3440x1440 ultra wide has an 1800R curve so that smaller less wide monitor has an even stronger curve. I haven't tested tons of monitors, but I wouldn't go my current size(ultrawide) without a curve, and think 1800R is pretty decent for it. Before getting this, all I had to do was look at similarly sized flat ultrawides to know that I wanted curved.
I find choosing a monitor suuuuper hard. There are both a ton of aspects to consider, as well as personal preferences. For now I'll just stick with my 24" tuf - also due to space constraints, but in the long run I would love to try out something more fancy.
For those specs thats pretty good if they're actually refreshing that fast. Most will say that and actually be 2-5hz in that price range.
@Alvin853

They will have a single transition that does 1.5ms on the highest (unusable, because too much inverse-ghosting) overdrive setting, that can be rounded to 1ms for marketing purposes, but the realistic response times will probably be closer to 5ms on the 27" and higher on the 32".

Hey Jay, we need the new SSUPD Meshroom S build, apparently it fits full ATX components so I believe it'd a great video for those who would like to downsize.
The 32 inch variant has a VA panel and the 27 inch one has an IPS panel, that's why the 32 inch has more motion blur.
These came out right when I started to look into 1440p monitors to replace my 1080p monitors. They're highly attractive from what I've seen it's just hard to decide on good 1440p monitors
I could see a curved non ultrawide being nice in a 3+ monitor setup especially if everything is set to give you one continuous curve.
I'm currently using an HD Ready 27 inch TV as my monitor, as my gaming desk is in a part of the house we're going to be doing construction on - and I must say, this monitor seems to be a good alternative for that! Hook it up to an AV receiver and it's happy retro-gaming. The only downside to these things is the lack of VGA, which you really need for the best Dreamcast experience. Once the construction work is over, though, I'll be using a 24 inch Philips USB-C monitor (provided by the boss for working from home) and I can't help but wonder if this 27 inch panel would be just as big since it has tiny bezels.
At least is nice to see a different approach that leaves the user decide what to buy.
Great video! Just wish the 27" was in stock to order now 😔

I like the idea of an a la carte approach to certain things, but a problem I’ve seen (Spiritus Systems) is maintaining sufficient stock of the optional pieces.
I have a 32'' Samsung curved monitor. I did not care for the stand and ordered the gas arm type that attaches to the desk from Amazon which has worked out well for me, because at the time I did a lot of desk work and needed to move it out of the way on occasion which also allows me to flip it vertical.
I don't think it's a bad thing or a money grub that some unexpected companies have started making/licensing monitors. I've felt for a while like there's a bit of a hole in the market. You have a massive selection of basic and low-medium tier monitors, but mid to high end monitors, things get really specific, and it's not easy to find exactly what you want, or you may be forced to go with a brand that you don't necessarily want to go with to get the features you want.

I don't use LCDs anymore for my main screen. The only reason I would want an LCD is as a secondary display, and in those cases I much prefer VA panels since they are darker and generate less light next to my OLED. IPS are just too bright to use as a secondary screen next to an OLED, even a TN is better for that use case, but VA is definitely the best.

The 32” is a VA panel.
The 27" monitor stand is exactly like one of my Asus Stand I got in 2017 (and it appears the 32" uses the same style as well). It might as well BE an Asus monitor stand. This is not to say that this fact makes it bad, but either they copied the design directly form Asus, or they licensed the design for their own use. Either way, the one thing I can't stand is that the VESA area is inset which makes using wall/desk mounts challenging as not every VESA base will fit inside that inset area. Otherwise, a very solid base.
