This Blazing Brass concert was presented by the New York Staff Band (NYSB) on 2/12/22 at the Salvation Army Manchester (CT) Citadel. The NYSB is one of North America's oldest and continuous musical ensembles. Founded in 1887, it is the first staff band in the Salvation Army. As one of the most traveled groups in band history, the NYSB, all volunteers, maintains a level of musicianship considered by many music critics to be professional.
Also of note was the recognition of service of Michael Orfitelli, the band master for the Manchester Citadel Band for 55 years.
