This band is made up from groups from 10 countries including several individual youth bands from the UK, New Zealand, Australia and Canada who with in them have each would have 4 - 5 Tubas usually 3 Eflat Tubas and 2 Bflat Tubas. Imagine marching at that pace with one of those gargantuan tubas most players arent going to be able to play every note perfectly, so i believe this number is required and the sousaphones add to the directionality to the sound so it isn't always going off to the right and being outdoors the sound often gets lost. I do not mean any offence just offering my expertise as a long time Salvation Army Bandsman at the ripe old age of 23

The history of Salvation Army bands is pretty much all brass and percussion anyway. Usually one or two trumpets, a trombone and a tuba plus a bass drum, they’d play on s street corner to gather a crowd, then someone would preach and invite “sinners” to the mission. This goes back to the turn of the 20th Century or maybe even before.

What are they doing to in Disney? And Amazing grace should never be played in a marching tempo
