Dear Pune-ites, please keep your city clean. A few days ago, a group of our senior citizen friend from the US returned after visiting India. Most were from Jamaica and Trinidad [Indian origin folks whose ancestors were taken away by the British to work as sugar cane plantation workers in the Caribbean] and a few other born and raised Americans. They had many good things to talk about India and INdians, the people, culture, food [they thought that the food in India is very affordable]. The one complaint they had was how dirty Indian cities and towns are. Sadly they specifically mentioned Pune [and a few other places]. I was actually surprised to hear Pune being mentioned for not being clean. I lived in PUne several decades ago and it was not so bad. I mean I can understand Delhi, Mumbai etc being mentioned for lack of cleanliness [as they have major slums in pockets around these massive cities]. But dear PUne-ites lets keep our city clean.

@@manadya I agree that there were many conversions that took place in India, but the fact remains that the converted "Hindus" as you term it, are quite happy and content in their new religions. They have no desire to reconvert back to their ancestral religion and so how can you still call them "Hindus". I totally understand that what happened to India was very tragic and reverberations of the 1947 tragedy are still echoing amongst us BUT we have to accept what the reality is and try to gracefully move forward! By the way I am not a commie neither do I have any interest in their versions of Indian History.
