Truthfully, very little in the demo "looks real" because it's meant to be cartoon-like. I, for one, am amazed at what they've done with this. Yes, the architecture could use some work. In addition, there will be better cards (and demos) in the future based of Fermi or better Architecture Types. I am just happy that there is some thing new, finally, instead of the same old thing in a new package with a couple more bells and whistles.

@HogMaw there is only a 1fps diffrence between the 280 and the 285. The 285 was made to cut down power and heat amount not for more speed

No actually that is a very realistic representation of what viewing that flame would look like from that vantage point. It only appears to go through the metal cage due to the light output level of the flame.

@sockengolem The 5970 costs almost the same and it does not generate as much heat as the GTX480 so it is not unfair to match them. There will not be a 490 until the heat problem has been solved.

yeah, im not biased they're both good cards. I've always bought nvidia until i bought my 4850 when they released because i heard they had really gotten their stuff together with their drivers. They were right, I've had literally no problems with my card or drivers and compared to my "luck" if you want to call it that with nvidia, I wish I could say the same. I'm not the only one, lots of people have problem with nvidia

@WowVideosbyVessel What do you mean? the GTX2xx series cards only support DirectX10 while these support the new DirectX11 Architecture(tesselation among other things). You COULD use one of those GTX285's as a PhysX engine card but only certain games support PhysX... and a GTX285 would be overkill for a PhysX renderer.

i play a mix of the latest games and some old games, that was nvidias problem. I would have have to install different drivers each time I wanted to play certain games, where as I never have an issue with ati. Also I noticed the Nvidia drivers would go corrupt CONSTANTLY, I was always having to do a complete reinstall of them because of BSOD. Pretty much all my buddies use Nvidia and still have the same issues I use to have.ATI has kinda shown me the light ;)

They are cheaper, more attainable for the average audience, simpler to use for most people, and have some truly great exclusives:D So it all comes down to what it is you like and want out of your gaming experience.

Cuda is programming directly for the GPU shader cores, if an already existing game hasn't implemented that then it won't use the CUDA capabilities of this card. But it will still out perform any current card, considering it has more performance than a GTX295 on one card. ATI is ahead of the game, through their partnership with AMD they have things available to them that Nvidia does not, like a 28nm top of the line CPU factory As it stands ATI could make a card that would destroy NVIDIA for 10yr

Lars Sundell a Mac is a real computer, but clearly you haven't ever experienced using one yet. If you don't like Apple, you have no ground for it, only that its products are more expensive and better designed, and all work together smoothly. Look, I've been using Windows for a long time, and got a Mac for a bit more than 2 years, and I'm satisfied with the purchase. I don't tell you to buy any Apple product, but don't be prejudgmental. My (Mac) computer works perfectly fine, is fast, supports me in both graphical/visual and audio needs and never ever had any virus or malware (I don't need Norton or any other anti-virus/malware software, because it's part of the OS). Oh, and I don't hate Windows, nor Linux, nor Android (thus also different devices), because I know that products have a target group, you make yourself look stupid, as you try to mock a brand for its products, you're clearly not having that knowledge. Mac computers are like forts, they protect itself so they regulate the updates also. If you reply on this, make sure it makes sense, or don't reply at all, xenophobe

Maybe to you. I have one also in my other rig but, when others say money and performance for ATI's, the 4870x2 is not the answer. I get better performance with a GTX 260 in most games than the 4870x2. So it may run well for you but, still the drivers make the potential of the card useless as compared to my GTX 260 that has better performance in most games for a cheaper price and precise drivers.
