NUX B-6 Wireless Saxophone Microphone (Review)
Ойын-сауық
Hi Everyone,
This is my first review video.
It's for the @nuxaudio B-6 Wireless Saxophone Microphone. I've tried to be as thorough as possible, but if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments.
Be sure to check out my play test video here:
• NUX B-6 Wireless Saxop...
Overall it's a great wireless microphone system with some very nice features. The wireless connection is excellent, with a very nice balanced, clean sound. It's the best of the new breed of digital wireless options out there, and for most situations it's a great solution.

Great review, I purchase this mic system and then another for backup. I love this mic for the sound and it's easy setup. I still have my Shure Beta 98, but this NUX B-6 is a game changer.
You projected a superb sound!!! Thank U 4 this review!

I brought just two days back.🎉 I think your video is definitely help me out. Thank you so much Rasesh Gandhi India, gujrat, valsad.
Informative and comprehensive demo...many thanks. I actually have one and hardly used as I do prefer a microphone as I have total control over the tone. For Soprano, I tend to place the horn half way alongside the sm58 so to achieve a sweeter sound etc. However, you've spured me on to use it more now. Kindest regards. John
Thanks for the review. Considering one of these. I was wondering if the settings for each sax type was legit or maybe a bit gimmicky, but found my answer when you changed the settings to each type while playing the alto. On alto settings, it of course sounded the way an alto should but when you switched it to tenor the sound of the alto darkened somewhat, much like a tenor. But it was on the soprano setting I noticed the biggest difference. The alto sounded buzzy/reedy. Yet when you played the appropriate instrument with its proper setting it enhanced the sound of the instrument. The soprano sounded beautiful.
Спасибо за обзор, не могу определиться с микрофоном. Вы очень помогли!

Hello. Thank you for sharing this video. Btw I think the red colour is for soprano and the yellow one is for tenor. I saw them from the user guide.
You make a great sound on your horn man!

Hi there. It's a nice review mate. One question though in your opinion is it great for live only or for recording also?
@PavanSax
Жыл бұрын
Great question. Generally for recording you should use a wired microphone.That said, I found this to be pretty decent for recording. The microphone itself is excellent, and there could be a way to use it as a wired mic, using and extension cable.
Great review...Thank you. I just bought one. What reverb system are you using?

Hi! It's a Boss VE-5 Vocal Performer. Extremely versatile and useful for live gigs.
Great review Pavan. I'm wondering is there a work around for the 10 minute auto shut off sleep mode ? I think it's a major flaw in the design

That's interesting. I didn't know about the auto shut-off, and have not experienced the NUX B-6 shutting off automatically.

Indeed, this is a BIG problem if you use this mic on stage and if there are sequences without the sax ... very risky IMO as you have to restart both emitter and transmitter. Hope they will reconsider this in the future versions.

Hey! Great review! Quick question, when you put the receiver into the effects pedal, do you then take an xlr cable and plug the effects unit into a mixer desk? Thinking for a live setting with a band

@@PavanSax Does this mean I use iPhone to record if I connect the NUX B-6 receiver to a Lighting or USB cable?

I don't know. The receiver is XLR, so I think you would need some kind of audio interface that coverts XLR to line audio.
Hey, long time see bro.....
Great review! So I bought one of these and I like it, but I have been burned TWICE on gigs with the battery in the transmitter crapping out mid-gig. The first time I discovered was the bad design flaw where you actually have to press the button on the case to actually get it to charge when it's plugged into USC-C. I didn't press that button. However, last weekend, it did the same thing, and I could swear I had it charging for hours after pressing the button, and the side case LEDS for the case-charging showed all four LEDs lit green. What could be going on? What do you do to make sure it doesn't crap out on you? Might I have a unit with a defective transmitter battery?
@PavanSax
Жыл бұрын
I've never had an issue with the battery, and I've done gigs of 4-6 hours. But then I do charge it fully, and then switch off the transmitter and receiver between sets.
Hi Pavan. Thank you for your review. Can this mic be connected to a pedal?
@PavanSax
Жыл бұрын
Hi Preeti. I've not tried it.The receiver is an XLR, so I suppose in theory if you have an XLR>1/4inch jack it could work, since most pedals are 1/4" jack.

I did a quick Google search and found a few places, although I don't know if they have them in stock: stagegearstore.co.uk/nux-b-6-b-6-wireless-saxophne-system-2-4ghz-173-385uk.html www.yourspares.co.uk/parts/ys88017/b-6-wireless-saxophone-system-24ghz--saxophne-173385UK.aspx www.instruments4music.co.uk/radio_mics/nux_b6_wireless_saxophone_system_24ghz/29222_p.html It's still fairly new, so I'm guessing they are sorting out distribution in Europe. It's definitely worth contacting @NUX EFX & Amplifier directly for more information on availability.
good review, but i`m wondering why you have the tenor setting on red, when they suggest a yellow setting for tenor.

I guess didn’t read the instructions properly. Remember I made this review before they released the final version. But honestly i don’t think it makes that much difference.
I also have the BOSS VE-5 VOCAL PROCESSOR. Which preset do you use on it
@PavanSax

I've used the basic presets and fine tuned them to them according to the microphone, and also the sound setup of my gig.
NICE TONE SEEMS TO BE HIGH QUALITY. The Only Thing that would be better For some is AAA Battery Power Removable. Hopefully the rechargable Will not prove to be a problem after Time goes by.

That is probably the trade-off. What's the way it comes you won't need to worry about taking batteries out and putting them in. The downfall is once it's damaged it's non repairable. At this price range you probably want to get 2 years out of it to get the full value

This review is of the NUX B-6. The NUX B-3, like a lot of other similarly priced 2.4ghz systems only work with dynamic mics. So you would need an inline phantom adaptor to make it work.

The NUX website says 20 metres (line of sight), which is comparable to most other digital wireless units. I would say that's pretty accurate. It's been pretty much the same as my AMT Wi-5, and much connection better than a Shure Beta Digital Wireless I tried out. For smaller gigs, it will be fine.
It's suitable for a trumpet ?
