2.4GHz is indeed crowded, so we are utilizing our latest algorithm in the B-8, which can run 2 frequency points for wireless transmission with only 1 MHz bandwidth, while still keeping high audio quality and low latency. When the transmission is only 1M, the anti-interference performance is significantly better than others which normally need 2M-4M. Just imagine that you can still drive a motorcycle fast on a highway when there's traffic jam:) Also 2.4GHz has longer wavelength than 5.8GHz, thus on average it has better performance when there are obstacles. And it transmits better audio quality than UHF within similar price range and with similar size.

Nashville gigging musician. Early adopter of this B8 unit. Works flawlessly every time (even in crowded clubs under hotels with terrible WiFi environments and other wireless systems failing). I can also vouch for the obstacle performance because I’ve hopped off the stage and line danced while still playing. Bonus: I’m usually still at about 50% after 4 hours. I’ll see how it handles the road over the next couple of months but I’m very optimistic.

Brilliant! I as well cannot keep up with NUX's product releases. I still love my old gear, well 5 years old. How time has flown. Valve head and a Barefaced cab, that does it for me. I know the DI out is not going to be the quality of the new gear but hey, with the amount of beer people drink at pubs around here, I doubt they can tell the difference. Oh my! Hail in Malta! Dude, if you were back in the UK you'd be helping me build the Ark in the back garden.

I'm both a guitar tech & electrician & have years of experience understanding cable signal paths for both my professions.. You absolutely can not beat hard wire quality guitar cables.. Anything wireless has some form of latency & can suffer from interference too as well as give a slightly inaccurate interpretation of your playing, naunces & dynamics.. Can I also add, that all your patch cables between your pedals are hard wired.. so, may as well plug a decent cable between your guitar & pedalboard too right..! This product, like so many others out there that do the same job (there are many that are much hugher quality already been on the market for years) is good for one thing only.. Playing live where you need to walk among the audience whilst playing & that's about it.. You will never ever beat the integrity of your signal using quality cables over any wireless or interface systems.. expecially if using a decent buffer in a long chain with hardwired quality cables.. there is & never will be a substitute.. This thing is also huge & takes up lots of real estate on your board.. Rob would knows all this too..! Advertise anything for a few quid I guess...

@reilly-vc1rm I also work as a Data Centre engineer from my electrical profession & can tell you that WiFi crashes & lags all the time.. Fact..! Hardwire doesn't do this, especially when buffered.. There was a guy just recently did a gig near me & was relying on a WiFi connection for his backing.. Well.. his set lasted only 5mins of a 45min slot at Leo's Red Lion Festival due to WiFi lag & then total disconnection.. So the poor guy ended up with a totally unprofessional performance due to relying on a non-hardwired connection.. Anything non hardwire is a gamble & sub-par for reliability & sound quality.. these are facts & the science is there to back this up..

That's a clever bit o' gear. It has multi-functions, but they have kept it simple, and not tried to stuff every possible effect into it, as too many other pedal/amp designers do. I'd have to play around with it a little, to decide if I even need the boost (I don't solo much), but a wireless system that doesn't Spinal Tap out with radio signals coming through, and good tuner is worth it. Come to think of it, I play with as much gain as possible ( I have an ongoing love affair with Orange), so the boost could make my sound extra obnoxious! I like THAT idea, lol.

NUX must have some pretty incredible engineering talent. They never seem to fail to innovate. I've fallen in love with their Loop Core Stereo pedal as my primary looper, even though it seems to fly under the radar among looper enthusiasts. Just bundling tuner/boost/wireless together would be fantastic for my pedal board, but I don't need the wireless and my board is already crammed to the hilt. Looks really cool though, and seems a value for the money.

Really awesome concept. Next version I'd like to see facility for 2 or more transmitters, and a departure from the strap pack design to the much more convenient and better direct plug design transmitter. Lots of us who gig regularly like to use more than 1 guitar a night. The strap pack design means more fiddling around on guitar changes. Great concept and I'm sure we'll see some upgrades and improvements of functionality and performance.

could i connect the guitar input part to a mixing console and strap on the receiver to my belt and connect in ear headphones to the output of the receiver and use it as a cheaper alternative for an in ear system?

NUX, make a 5.8 version and I'll buy it. You already make a 5.8 version for both wireless and in-ears (which work great -thank you). And your own website touts the advantages of 5.8 over 2.4 - Most devices in your home, including Wi-Fi networks, cordless telephones, Bluetooth devices, garage door openers and even baby monitors, run on the 2.4 GHz frequency. The 5.8 GHz frequency, which is a newer standard, is not commonly used in these devices. So, the 5.8 GHz band tends to be less crowded than the 2.4 GHz band because fewer devices use it. 5.8GHz band experiences fewer interferences from other devices when you play on stage or at home. *Jump out crowded UHF 2.4GHz RF Band. *Avoid mutual interference with WIFI *Coexist with Bluetooth device

I loved mine.... until, 2 drop outs in the same gig, 2 weeks in a row. I can't have drop outs while performing live. I went back to my Shure system, I've never had a single drop out with Shure.

Main bummer to this otherwise great idea is that its 2.4ghz only. Really needs to have access to 5ghz - much too likely interference issues because 2.4ghz is so congested especially in most bars/clubs full of people using wifi - regardless - Chappers this is a phenomenal endorsement.

I was recently given an Amazon Basics wireless guitar TX/RX kit and they are like $40. Not to mention there are like 50 other brands and models all about the same price. I'm guessing 99% of those watching are bedroom players and don't really need this. $300 vs $40. But I never want to have to be tethered to a cable ever again now.

Nice! But at $650 bucks vs $530 for the Line6 G10S, which does not force you to use a strap.... I'll stick with the Line6 for 2.4GHz connectivity. The NUX C5RC 5.8GHz however, is the one I may actually try out next - $290. Less than half the price of this B-8 thingy and hopefully an improvement over the issues with 2.4GHz.

It would be very useful if the receiver had a battery to charge the transmitter when it was not plugged in, because after the show the entire system will be stored somewhere and the transmitter will run out of power unless you recharge it at home or even before of the next event.

I think it would be nice if there was a way to activate the Boost without being near your pedalboard. Seems like there could be a button on the transmitter or a way to attach one to your guitar and plug it into the transmitter. Don't get me wrong it's cool product but everything could use Improvement.

Can you replace the battery in the transmitter . Previous 2 NUX wireless did not and both my NUX were redundant in just over a year. I also had problems with interference and drop out that lasted for hours when in fixed location that only a day later were gone. The answer was to move to military/emergency spec UHF 9.5 KHz. I have a M-Vave WP-5G. Zero problems for over a year and it only cost $42.00 USD.
