11/21/1996 I got high for the last time. This song always takes me right back to those days. I was a hopeless dope fiend and if I had to live another day the way I was living I was ready to die. Jesus Christ I have listened to this song all my life , never have I heard a cover of it this amazing.. Made the hair on my arms stand up.. absolutely amazing.

I got a few chills too. This really was pretty good.

I love how she did not tried to cover the original emotion of the song but instead she interpreted it with her own. She’s telling us her story for these lyrics. She puts so much intensity in words. That’s mesmerizing. Love this cover 🤍🦋

As usual, I'm late to the party on this one. Many great musicians have tried to cover this timeless masterpiece of the grunge era. None of them have come close to the antagonizing torment and raw emotion that Layne was able to gift us through his powerful voice. This cover right here is the most perfect tribute that I have ever heard. You didn't try to replicate this work of art. You didn't try to make a better song in the same style. No, you showed the respect that should be shown for Layne, the man whose vocals had helped many of my generation get through our depression and addiction. You made your own version without attempting to mimic his truly vocal style. I applaud you for making the absolute best "cover" of Nutshell in existence 👏

This is such a hard song to cover the right way. Layne Staley singing these words the way he does is close to heartbraking. That beeing said: This for me is the best cover of this song I heard this far. Great voice and definately a great way to sing this song. Thanks for this rendition.

Rouwiinator Upchurch has the best cover hands down.. far better than the original.. this is probably 3rd in all fairness to Dallas green.

Well done one of my favorite all time songs I know exactly where I was first time I recall hearing it!

Extraordinarily beautiful cover. Magnificent melancholy keyboard and I can't find the words to do justice to that gorgeous, sorrowful, beautiful clarion voice.

Best cover I’ve ever heard of this song. You sing with the same pain Layne had. You’re not singing it just to sing it, and that’s what makes music so beautiful. I hope this gets the views it deserves

And yet I fight, and yet I fight, this battle all alone. No one to cry to... no place to call home. Dude... The way Layne sings this, the beats at which he chooses to annotate the emotion; the dying, fading melody he chose for this portion of the song puts you on guard. This line and the way he delivered it to us takes you out of whatever you're doing at the moment and causes you to stop and listen just in time for the whaling Ooo's... It's fucking haunting man. It's one of the most chilling lines in music, and yet, the lyrics themselves are so juvenile... Maybe it's the puerile nature of the line teamed with his death that makes it so unnerving.

Omg, who is cutting onions? I seriously almost cried at your beautiful rendition of Nutshell. This is a song I can hear at least once a week. Layne really put his hear & soul into composing those vocal melodies/harmonies I never knew that it was possible for a human being to sing so pure & beautiful. Layne had a voice like no other. And sadly we wont ever get to listen to such a unique & powerful voice. The way he had total control of his vibrato & general technique never ceases to leave me in awe. Your cover surely captures the essence of this song very well. I also love the piano. It gives it a opera/ballad touch. And your voice is like buttery chocolate you sent over the airwaves lol. Your voice is very similar to Haley Reinhardt imo. You surely have the blues in your voice. Im so glad I found this. Would serve as a great lullaby. Obviously the list of praise would be endless. The only thing I would change about this cover is, to include additional falsetto takes to the whispering section. Otherwise this is one of the best covers Ive seen to this day regarding this song. You should try, Snuff by Slipknot, Like A Stone by Audio Slave, Release by Pearl Jam, Look On Down The Bridge,Mazzy Star etc I raise my glass to you in your honor. Rest In Peace Layne Staley.

Hands down the best cover of nutshell that ive heard. So many people attempt it but it always falls short which is understandable because its such a legendary and hard hitting song with so many nuances that have to come from the heart and from experiences that most people simply have never truly had. All that being said this one captures the honesty that so many attempts lack. I love how you interpreted it in your own way. Job well done.
