    ## Key Takeaways 1. **Morning Routine:** - Mark Wahlberg starts his day with vitamins, water, zinc, and a triple espresso, followed by a cold plunge. Thomas DeLauer notes that zinc is important, although its timing might not be crucial. The recent studies show that immediate caffeine intake in the morning is fine and doesn't impact cortisol levels significantly after a few days. 2. **Supplement Use:** - Wahlberg uses creatine and branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) during his workout. DeLauer explains that while creatine timing doesn't matter much, BCAAs are less effective compared to essential amino acids (EAAs). 3. **Post-Workout Meal:** - Wahlberg consumes a high-protein meal including eggs, pork chop, salmon, Greek yogurt, berries, and green juice. DeLauer supports this, noting that recent evidence supports high protein intake post-workout without specific carb timing. 4. **Mid-Morning Meal:** - At 11:00 a.m., Wahlberg eats chicken, sweet potatoes, berries, broccoli, pistachios, and almonds. DeLauer suggests that this meal could be consolidated with his later meal and recommends incorporating more monounsaturated fats. 5. **Afternoon Meal:** - At 2:00 p.m., Wahlberg eats salmon sashimi, crab salad, cucumber, and chicken breast. DeLauer observes that Wahlberg's diet is very low-carb and suggests a more balanced approach with consolidated meals. 6. **Dinner:** - Wahlberg typically has steak, sea bass, or halibut with vegetables for dinner. DeLauer notes the overall low-carb nature of his diet and the high protein intake. 7. **Rest and Recovery:** - Wahlberg emphasizes the importance of rest and recovery, having learned to balance his intense training with adequate recovery time. 8. **Cheat Meals:** - Wahlberg occasionally indulges in cheat meals, recognizing the negative impact they can have on how he feels the next day. ## Conclusion Mark Wahlberg's diet and workout routine reflect a high-protein, low-carb approach with an emphasis on fasting and recovery. Thomas DeLauer appreciates Wahlberg's dedication to clean eating, fasting, and minimal supplementation while suggesting minor adjustments for improved fat profiles and meal consolidation. Overall, Wahlberg's regimen is effective for his needs and lifestyle, showcasing the importance of personalization in diet and fitness plans.

    great video!! I appreciate the critiques you add. This has all been such a gift for me at almost 67, recovery from an eating disorder of 45 years and 13 years sober. I began weight training 6 month ago and found such joy in it that I now look forward to my life. I struggle with the amount of food and protein AND am getting to my own comfort zone. Thank you Thomas. I cannot tell you how impressed I have been with your style and the way you dig for the science truths and then change your perspective if you need too. I also like the videos on what you would have done differently if you had know what you know now. I have never felt comfortable in my body due to a lot of trauma until I started at the gym with the weights. again...thank you! well done!!! See ya tomorrow!(;

    I really liked this form of video. I can make better comparisons to myself and what I am doing. I feel like I can apply the knowledge as you break it down. I have ADD, and I feel like this gives me a real application connection. You always have amazing content and knowledge. I liked the pause and breakdown. I don't fast at all because with my eating disorder, I found that in the past when I have IF, I was rewarding and punishing myself based on my ability to " obstain" from eating. My mindset was way off. Now, I eat 3 meals a day, no snacking because I'm just not hungry. My meals are balanced. I love the way I feel. I have yoyo dieted for 6 years and have been obese for 20 years. I finally found what works. My life is forever changed. Thank you for teaching the public what we so desperately need to hear. I enjoy your channel very much.

    I'm glad he said that he fasts sometimes and doesn't eat like this all the time. Also, I like how he said he was eating too much protein before, as he wasn't digesting all of it. Eating too much protein can destroy your kidneys. I was worried that he was just going to go on and on forever and ever, "then for my Lupper, I'll have another 5 steaks and 2 chickens. For Supper 9 salmons and 6 turkeys legs. For my evening snack I'll eat a whole goat and a handful of berries. For my midnight snack, I'll eat half a zebra and 29 chicken breasts. In the middle of the night, sometimes I like to wake up and eat a whole giraffe if I feel like I need a little snack."

    Thomas I love this video. It shows a human who's doing his best to suit his own needs by trial and error. I have a whole new respect for Mark bc of his admitting to feeling like crap when he goes off track with the fuel(or junk) he puts in his body. I also agree with you that it's A LOT of food that he might not need so much of, but he's listening to his body. That's a big step forward. Keep'm coming, it's interesting to see how other people are appropriating their lifestyles for optimum health. I like that you add your comments as well. 🙏 🤗

    Thomas is only 36. He looks a lot older. Did you think he was Marky Mark's age? What he's doing doesn't seem to be working. Extreme amounts of protein are suppose to age you faster. I don't necessarily believe that, but Thomas is some anecdotal evidence that's it's true. Or maybe he just has bad genetics for aging, he was unhealthy earlier in life, or the PED's.

Extreme amounts of protein are suppose to age you faster. I don't necessarily believe that, but something is causing an increased rate of aging. The big thing about delaying caffeine consumption is that your body already amps your hormones and blood sugar in the morning, so you should be getting some cardio to equalize that and waiting for the caffeine, because you don't _need_ it first thing. _Then_ you can go ahead and have it after you start your day (like when you get to your desk.) PS: You'll get more _benefit_ from getting the caffeine later, so it will get you through the day without adding _more._
