    Actually the contents are mostly harmless and healthy,but the powdered milk would be a deal breaker because I am lactose intolerant. Then again I have not smelled it. Can the prisoners let it ferment in the sun and heat ? It might make a good quality Pruno. ( prison hooch ).

    There's a reason for the diet loaf. Inmates in segregation aren't just fed that for the heck of it. If an inmate is fed that nasty concoction, it's for one of the following reasons: breaking their tray, shitting on their tray, throwing their tray at officers, of throwing their shit at officers. And trust me, every single one of those instances does happen in prison.

Leftovers are always better. Tell the guard that you loved it, and ask if you can have seconds. Guards will freak and beat you to death probably, but hey, no more Nutraloaf.

  • @andrewthezeppo

    This one looked pretty bad and was described as such. I have seen reviews of other recipes where they basically said it didn't taste bad but you wouldn't want to eat it three meals a day and eat it without utensils.

  • @nodezsh

    @nodezsh

    Жыл бұрын

    @@andrewthezeppo I'm guessing those alternative nutraloaf recipes are made for daily consumption. Which is, however, a lot worse. This one is probably meant to keep you in full anxiety mode for two or three days and then no more. If they served this particular version permanently they'd be containing permanent protests from inside and outside. The ex-convicts would go immediately to the psychiatric ward. People often don't realize that food keeps us from going insane. We need good-tasting food to keep our mental health from self-destructing. The nutraloaf is extremely cruel. I would only use it as a last resort, its only use is to destroy the psyche of the victim.

  • @TerrilianReya
    @TerrilianReya7 жыл бұрын

    I'm not sure where you found this...uh...recipe, sir. When I saw your title, it reminded me of my days working for the TDCJ unit back in East Texas. Food Loaf was given only to "Ad Seg" or Administrative Segregation offenders and consisted solely of leftovers from the dinner meal from the day prior combined with some water for moisture then baked off in large bread loaf pans. The Ad Seg offenders ate the same thing as every other prisoner, but in a condensed and overcooked form that felt pre-chewed. Ad Segs are, by personal habit, aggressive prisoners usually facing life in prison and have already contracted Hepatitis C and/or are HIV positive through unprotected sex with fellow inmates. They feel there's nothing left to live for but to make everyone around them as miserable as themselves and therefore, are perfectly happy to spread their diseases. When they feel it's perfectly fine to stop-up their toilets with bedding and toilet paper, reserving their fecal matter and urine for throwing ("chunking") upon unsuspecting guards who perform their hourly health checks, yep...I don't feel an ounce of pity for them. Stop raping fellow prisoners, beating their skulls against the concrete floors or walls until their grey matter resembles pudding and you might get to eat real food.

    The reference to the "Greaseman" was epic. We had him on DC101 FM in the Washington DC area for years. He came from WAPE in Jacksonville FL. What's funny was he was sued by the Death Row prisoners for mental distress because he had the sound of bacon frying in the morning as he would ask who's getting fried this morning. And we're talking prison food.

    No, come on, this isn't fucking south america, there are sinks, there are standards in place. Prison isn't some crazy free for all where anything goes and everyone gets treated as terribly as possible. Not in the US, anyway. It's definitely not summer camp, but it's not nearly as bad as food with semen and unwashed hands. Prison food is bland, it's also simple. They do this so that inmates don't need anything but a spork to eat it, and the thinner shittier the plastic the safer for everyone involved.

    never had a issue with inmates fucking each other in the kitchen did have a problem with some of the inmates doing it with female staff. had a inmate get airlifted to the ICU because he bragged he messed with the food. most of the time food tampering is very specific but very common as is the handwashing even though if the inmates find out the kitchen worked dont wash their hands can get them smashed on the yard.

    I can answer the question of why this is given out. It’s not so much a punishment as a precaution. Inmates are generally put on food loaf when they have acted extremely band and could be potentially dangerous to other inmates or COs. Basically, on every cell there is a restraint slot where generally the worse inmates are given their trays of food and drinks. However, inmates can stick their arm out of the slot and prevent officers from closing the slot. This is dangerous because inmates can shoot spears, grab you, stab you or whatever. So in order to further prevent this, the “food loaf” is thrown in the restraint slot while the inmate is ordered to the back of the cell. This doesn’t require the inmate to interact with the officer. This is just one situation of why an inmate would be placed on food loaf, but you understand it’s not to be mean, it’s because the inmate has proven they are dangerous.

    I fucking _do_ have a gluten allergy! It's utterly fucked. Even glucose (made from wheat here) is enough to set me off, as does a bewildering array of other things. Found out about a year or two ago. Before then I had explosive diarrhoea and painful cramps several times a day, couldn't go anywhere without a toilet, shit myself more than once. For about 15 years. Probably had maybe 3 solid shits a year during that time. If I'm free of gluten I get better within a week, but if I get the slightest amount of contamination I get a week of the same shit. Even "gluten free" products make me sick. Cause they do stupid shit like use yeast extract, but forget that's made from beer from barley. Or grown on glucose or other gluten having garbage >.> Even distilled alcohol can do it! Now you would think that distilling would remove all protein and therefore gluten. Apparently not. Because apparently some distillers add some mash back to the distillate. And I have gotten sick from it (Kahlua, nothing else except the alcohol could have been the culprit, and it's "neutral grain spirit"). Whether it's cross contamination (probably) or the putting the mash back in I have no idea, but I'm kind of over it. I don't eat any processed anything now, but I still spend a depressing amount of time recovering from some mishap from something...

    One other thing, I served in the Navy for 8 years, and on a boat (I was on an aircraft carrier) the Commanding Officer rules Supreme. He can dole out punishment under the UCMJ at Captains Mast as he sees fit. One of the harsher punishments was confinement in the brig and bread and water rations. I saw this punishment doled out first hand, as I was SSDF (security) as part of my duty on board. It literally is 6 pieces of stale 3-4 day old bread, and smelly, sometimes rust colored lukewarm water. That's it. He can prescribe this punishment for up to 5 days if I remember correctly. It is an old punishment harking back to the age of sail where a seaman could be flogged (whipped) to death at the captains command. Bread and water rations are considered cruel and unusual punishment here on dry land in today's more humane society. I found it interesting that a punishment from back in the 18th century survives into the 21st century. Oh and to top it off. It's not the bread and water that's the true punishment. It is actually the severe constipation the prisoner will endure over the next few days. It can be so bad, it can cause a grown man to scream in agony!!!

    You know agent, just because someone broke the law, doesn't make them a bad person. Treating prisoners like animals is what turns normal people into repeat offenders. It's really sad how Americans view their justice system, as if it were infallible. Every day there are hundreds of people being thrown in the fuck barrel, merely to supply prisons with cheap labor. You can't be human, and treat people like this at the same time.

You realize that not all prisoners are terrible people. you have guys locked up for possessing weed as well as guys who murder other people. You still have to treat other human beings humanely. otherwise you are no better than they are. You want to lump all prisoners into the same boat and that's messed up. I'm not saying you should feed inmates fucking maine lobster and let them sip on expensive wines. However, you can make soups that are nutritious and cost way less than this piece of shit. Stop looking down on other people for poor life choices. the way these comments are going you'd think every person in prison is a child raping mass murdering terrorist who shanked their own mom for a dollar.

These prison bureaucrats are only obligated to “feed you a nutritious meal.” You don’t have to like it. This meal is also kosher & halal. So the asshole terrorists or fundamentalists that misbehave can eat this. I’ve heard this gives you massive diarrhea, as well as tasting bad.

In the prison system they use the cheapest ingredients that are often old and expired. Can you imagine this recipe or others made from barely edible ingredients to begin with? So these recreated versions probably taste better than the actual ones in real prison!

    @@nikweinfurter5578 I agree! How many are just people who grew up poor, physically abused, in a hopeless situation? How many have untreated mental illness? We just prefer to punish people after they screw up instead of helping people to not screw up.

    I always like how stuff like this is deemed "cruel and unusual" for prisoners, right, and the victims they murdered wasn't cruel and unusual enough? Although I could kind of see why maybe they should do away with something like this and maybe just give misbehaved prisoners a loaf of bread or something and some water. Good old fashioned bread and water.

    You would think so, but no, it appears a large number of people are reactionary dickheads with no empathy or common sense. They never stopped to consider that the US has more people in jail that Stalinist Russia, more than any nation that has ever existed in any time, both as a percentage and a raw number. And that that is exactly because of the jingoist "tough on crime" and "war on drugs" bullshit that has been a feature of every election since the early 80s. It has gone so far into la la land as make it so *you can't even get a jury trial* anymore without risking at least tripling the time you will serve, and the vast majority of people accused of a crime for which prison is the penalty _don't_ get a trial. And it just practically HAS to be this way given the number of people being prosecuted BECAUSE THERE SIMPLY ISN'T ENOUGH COURTS, JUDGES AND LAWYERS to hold the trials! Not even close! There is enough to bring maybe 10% of criminal cases to trial. This is an indictment of the US justice system and near complete abrogation of due process! No, they don't care about this. They never consider that the intention of the founding fathers was that role of the government should be to stop people's rights from being infringed, not to regulate what substances they might want to consume, how they raise their children, conduct their businesses, or a thousand other things that the government has made itself now sole judge, jury, and executioner. They just want to scapegoat the "the bad people". They don't care that it doesn't help. Without even worrying to make sure that due process is in place to decide even if they have in fact broken the law at all. They just want to double down on the retardation that caused the situation in the first place.
