-nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum)
-Pacific nurse shark (Ginglymostoma unami)
-tawny nurse shark (Nebrius ferrugineus)
-short-tail nurse shark (Pseudoginglymostoma brevicaudatum)
Range: marine waters throughout the world (depending on the species)
Habitat: shallow, coastal waters with places to hide/rest
Size: 2.5 to 10 feet (75-300cm) long
Diet: crustaceans, mollusks, fish, etc.
Threats: other sharks like lemon and tiger sharks
Lifespan: 25 years in the wild

    Whale sharks are my favorite. Filter feeding is just a cool strategy that so many different types of creatures take part in. Because the ocean lacks large predators like it used to the large filter feeders are temporary untouchable Untill something fills that niche again. The idea of just swimming through the water with your mouth open and not worrying about anything else is a graceful thought to me.

    They are so common in the maldives its crazy lol (and they are always searching for food, even in the harbours!, once i saw 10 at once in a Harbour)

    Hammerhead sharks are my fave type of sharks! Nurse sharks are also super cool. I had no idea they could give birth up to 30 pups! Wow, that’s a lot! Thanks for the cool information!
