Bought the 4 Trak a week ago and Its one amazing piece of gear ! you can forget the rest besides the S4 which does have a good reputation but when this thing lights up it an alien.... Love it.

Yes but you should also go to the Native Instruments website to make sure that you meet the minimum system requirements to run Traktor Pro 2.

There are literally a thousand comments asking "4trak or s4". 4trak and s4 are similar functionality/capability wise, but because of Native Instrument's reputation most people will tell you to go with s4. I went with the 4trak simply because I hated the look of the s4, whereas the 4trak is huge and looks extremely professional.

When mixing with the VCI 400, have you ever had issues with bumping into those jogs? I don't really like how the jogs are in the way of the midi controls behind it.. I don't want to keep bumping into it and interrupting my mix!

The S4 does not act as a standalone mixer but you can connect turntables or CDJ's if you wish.

The terminal reloop mix is the best because the audio quality is equal to that of s4, its size is large which makes it comfortable controller also works with traktor pro 2 has buttons and cue samples separated thing that many drivers havent for example the pioneer t1, is heavy that means is made of good quality material is also constructed largely of aluminum and maybe your irresistible price of $ 499

I'm in a debate on the 4Trak or S4 or S2,, this will be my first controller but i have knowledge on how to use one just need to know which it best for me. I don't want to buy a really beginner controller but dont want something too crazy either, what would be best for me? At a good price as well I might mention.

I'd say VCI-400 if you like mapping and want to performance with many cues and FX and stuff.

If you intend using Traktor s/w the S4 would be your best bet as there both made by NI. Try to get a good s/h if you dont have much cash.You wont regret it
