The 30° barrel for the KAR98 was used in the battle for Berlin and there is no records if they got a kill. What is very funny is that the 90° barrel for the STG-44 used a first generation silencer prototype for the MP40. There were 3 fully work STG-44 silencer prototypes that worked. They were put on the Vampir gun sets which is the first night vision scopes ever made. They got a total of 62 confirmed kills 2 months before the war ended. The STG-44 Silencers would be major influence on Silencers made for AK gun variates.

The archaic electronics of a nuclear power plant are actually one of it's biggest safety features. Radiation can really mess with electronics with small transistors, so old circuits and motherboards are the best for when you need to use a computer in an area that could possibly become irradiated for whatever reason. This is why the Mars rovers used motherboards and circuits that were archaic and old even in the context of when the rover was built. Mars has much more background radiation than Earth, so using a computer that isn't effected by radiation-induce bit-flipping is perfect. Nuclear plants don't generally have a lot of radiation basically anywhere, but if, for any reason, the the control room were irradiated, those computers would be perfectly safe. Edit: It's not one of the biggest safety features of the overall plant, not even close. It's one of the biggest safety features of the computer system. Not security, but safety in a sense that it protects data from radiation-induced degradation or radiation-induced soft-errors.
