This range complex is LR heaven. I've been competing, shooting, and running courses there for 10 years now. It never gets old. There are way more ranges than what's seen here. This is one of many different types of ranges there called "Over the Edge".

@@velayo_0317 You guys did really well for not having done a team match before. I've lost track of how many matches I've either competed in or RO'd across the US and Europe, and you really get to see the difference in Teamwork quality as an RO. The Top-level teams and shooters manage stages and their TGT detection and engagement sequences so differently than the lower-placing competitors, that it feels like being in another place at another event. Due to being on the clock, stage management, communication, and Therblig efficiency are every bit as critical as your LR shooting and spotting skills. If you film yourselves like this, then AAR everything, build an improved Therblig plan, you can cut any inefficiencies out and rehearse your improved game for the next match. Some helpful tips for team coordination for TGT location and comms can be learned from old-school F-15C community TGT sorting and brevity codes (pre-JTIDS/MIDS data link). They used the BRA format for Bearing, Range, Altitude. Then brevity codes for PID, sorting, and engaging TGTs. You can use PTF for prominent terrain feature, for example. Any common phrases you use that can be acronyms will shave seconds off your time elapsed. It's great that you filmed your stage performance because you can review and critique it together to hone your method. There are 18 Therbligs listed by a husband-wife US industrial psychology/human efficiency team who developed the field of time and motion research to make factory workers more efficient, greatly increasing productivity. Looking forward to your next performance.

It's quite interesting to watch as both of you move toward having the same mindset. Phil seems to be a little better at balancing out the information & details in the beginning,but Sam starts to catch up towards the end. I continue to be amazed at how the crosshair returns very close to the aiming point when Phillip is shooting. What bipod are you guys using?

Another great video. I RO'd for a match and saw where one guy would start finding targets while the second guy would get behind the gun, make note of the first target, then shoot. You guys found all targets and made notes first, then Ryan started shooting. Is that based on experience or your style? What I saw while RO'ing seemed like the best approach, but there could be a lot of flaws in what I saw. Thanks!!

Thanks for sharing these. I have really been looking forward to shooting a Hunter match, and finally realized that I should find videos of some. I hate to say it, but this is not what I expected or what the "NRL-Hunter, what to expect" videos show. I wanted to shoot with my son. But between what these stages present, what NRL-Hunter claims is "normal", and what I now see while dissecting the rules, I don't think it is viable. Thanks for sharing. I probably can't participate in the manner that I had planned, but it is good to know that before jumping in blind.

Agree, this is still too much "sniper wannabee". Bring a 12 year old kid with, they will only shoot one tournament and never return.

I'm running a 6.5x47 and Ryan ran a 6.5 CM. We both ran 140 ELDMs at the same speed. Custom rifles.

@@samlatone1763 looks like someone can't tell the difference between a critique and a question. Not saying I'm on his level but on the front range the wind regularly hits 15+ with gusts over 20. Hitting something that's maybe 3-4" wide isn't that hard at that range.
