What if the hammer stays foward after shooting a nail and the air keeps coming out until i bump the body to get the hammer to retract? Thanks

There gonna be a few problems either your back seals on the top head are going bad or the main big O ring that’s on the cylinder needs to be replaced, also sometimes the trigger it’s self sometimes can do that to you also

What about checking for any burrs or rough edges/ corners and gently knocking them down with a fine file, like if it's hanging up on an edge it would get stuck potentially. ?

So if that doesn't fix it (a new one), then what will. Makes an air escaping sound but doesn't drive nail

The cylinder could be pushed down and not having contact with the top head

@@toolrepairzone8295 I have taken the piston out and oiled it and replaced it twice with no luck. When you say the cylinder is not pushed down (you don't mean the piston). So how do I move the cylinder back up? Makita AN924

@@toolrepairzone8295 O ring looks good, piston moves freely. Kept the gun inside while I was messing with it, and took it back outside and it half shot nails. I think tomorrow it is likely it will work well. The oil helped.

Why would you say the gaskets are 1 use only? I've taken apart air nailers dozens of times reusing gaskets with no problems. Especially with that gasket, it would be very easy to tell if it's leaking. Why not just say replace the gasket if it looks broken, worn out, or leaking? Having a policy of throwing out prefectly good parts because they've been used once is wasteful.

Because you personally can reuse them as many times as you want , but I work on other clients guns, and when they have been pressurized already once, and possibly already had water in the gun, it’s a risk I am taking when I put the old gasket back on ,and them going bad two days later it will start leaking, so I protect my self and my business from looking bad in front of my customers.
