Poland was Stalin's nightmare since defeat in polish-soviet war in 1920. He hate Polish and wantend to destroy everything what Poland stands for. He wantend us to be his slaves. He couldn't allow to free capital city of country he hated by it's National Army because otherwise he should respect Our independence. In political silence he allowed to crush uprising by German hands. That is how he get rid of people who for sure would rise up against him. In the other hand, Polish people excatcly knew, what does it mean to be under comunists occupation and would never allow to be in Alliance with them. Poland wantend to be free and independent.

@@thesaintftw2613 first of all, 'stalin' and 'respect' in the same sentece looks Just weird. Why to use my resources, when someone else can do the job I need? Fight Between Polish and German was ideal thing for him. He was fighting with both of them. So when they were fighting each other, they were makeing weaker both sides - Poland and Germany. Where two Fights, third one uses. Simple. Besides obvious reasons directly in summer 1944, we have to remember that Russians were at war with Poland from 17th of september 1939, when they treacherously used German invasion, to attack Poland from other side, with NO RESPECT for non-aggression pact.
