Lyrics:
I'm sick of spending all these days
Looking for some nepenthe,
Like atelophobic and solivagant.
How could I believe in magic
When we all feel so alone
And only try to survive for redamancy ?
I'm pacing downtown everynight
And everyone's giving advice
But no one really seems to give a shit.
So who's gonna...
...Who's gonna be my catharsis
And get me outside of my head
When I'm one breath away from drowning ?
Guess I been wasting time as it's wasting me,
Nicotine in the veins,
A thousand wishes hanging on my lip tips.
How could I believe in magic
When we are all so alone
And only try to survive all the things we feel ?
Surfing on liberosis,
Don't wanna know if I still bleed
Just wanna feel like dust in the winds.
Let me drown in velleities,
Don't wanna know if I still breathe,
Just wanna feel the light on my face.
No one will ever try to break the silence
When it's burning out my conscience,
When it's running every inch of my mind.
Here, even just to feel is complex,
But I wanna try and dare,
Take a moment to admire the world.

Nepenthe- “a fictional medicine for sorrow. A ‘drug of forgetfulness’” Ateliphobic- “the fear of not doing something right, or of not being good enough” Solivagant- “a lone wanderer” Redamancy-“the act of loving in return” Liberosis-“longing for liberty, an ache to let things go” Velleities-“a slight wish, a wish you aren’t working to make true” Credits go to the internet and not my massive vocabulary

I actually wasn’t sure of this at first and was wondering if I was just French racist. 😂
This song improved my vocabulary tenfold lol. Nepenthes = Drug to relieve pain Atelophobia = Fear of doing something wrong, or not good enough Solivagant = The act of wandering alone (amazing word that I never knew existed) Redamancy = Loving someone in return. Liberosis = Longing for liberty, wanting to let something go. Velleities (Velleity) = Wishing for something, but not enough to take action

C'est souvent le cas des groupes français qui utilisent dans leurs textes du vocabulaire que même les anglo-saxons n'utilisent jamais lol. Mais c'est bien on apprend. Très belle ballade !

I knew I recognised her when I saw their new music videos. Nice!
For several times, one of my best friends recommended this band for me, but I haven't paid enough attention to it. He used to say that Novelists was the band of his life and always posted Instagram stories of the sunset view from the room we used to work, with Novelists songs in the background... but I haven't paid enough attention to it. 2 months ago, he sent me this music, but I was in a shitty day and i haven't paid enough attention to it. Few days later, he went to ICU, for covid treatment, but it was too much for him to handle... In the day after his passing, scrolling down our messages, I've finally decided to listen to it. And I've cried. Bitterly. With pain, grief, with repentance, with the feeling of "I wish I could have done more, listen more, help more", and since then, I always listen to this song, remembering all of this. It's a bittersweet feeling, tbh. Rest ease, brother. We always will remember you. I'll remember.

Totally agreed, his voice is unreal kinda a shame I just found them :/
His wording is mind blowing ridiculous. And then he places them into a context that drives straight to your heart, as you close your dictionary. Brilliant. Just Brilliant.
Love how the guitarists are just chillin relaxing while playing. Really sets the mood and atmosphere of the song
I do love the way matteo kept his vocals deeper until the final verse to give such a nice contrast with the featuring singer. A few of the vocal runs you expect to climb suddenly fall and it's beautiful
It's crazy how every song they release blow me away like the first time I heard them...this one reminds me a lot of 5:12 AM... Thank you for the beautiful music and for inspiring buying a new guitar and shredding the hell out of it!!! Love from Quebec, Canada..

it is perfect the way it is.. listen to their other songs in this album the way Flo approaches his solo writing is freaking melodic..so I would understand why they opt not to do an outro solo in this one..

I'm that kind of guitarrist that loves guitar solos in those climax moments... I'm a guitarrist actually, i like solos everywhere. But... In this song i feel like the simple comes better. This idea of soloing in these moments is something almost predictable, it's becoming a cliche. This song don't deserves that. (i'm from brazil, any mistakes in my english tell me please)
Novelists are really out there writing some wonderful songs and everyone better listens to them because 2020 is gonna go hard

When you didn’t know the words to describe how you feel, Novelists comes along to help you understand. Amazing.
I’m there guys, it’s beautiful. I’m onboard and there’s at least five words in there that are brand new to me and that’s absolutely kick ass. Can’t wait to see how this fits in with the rest of the songs on the album.
This band never disappoints, been listening to Noir since its release month after month because there is just nothing out here like what you guys are making. Thank you for getting me through the days and from one dude in south africa on the other side of the world, never stop doing exactly what you've been doing.

Alex Florence yeah agreed, once I found novelist I pretty have them on everyday at least for a good portion of my day
From Matteo to Camille. Seems like everything comes full circle. Excited to see the new music coming
Liked both the old and the new vocalist. I know and heard Novelists for a long time but this is the first time I heard their music. I wished I listened to them back then. ♥️
She manifested her spot for sure, go Camille!
I love the way you create music. You are one of my inspirations to play guitar and I try to take some elements from your style to build my own. The lyrics are always so powerful and I read them as if were written by me expressing my feelings. Never stop existing guys, you're one of the best bands right now.
I absolutely love this song. I don't know what it is about it, but it just hits my soul pretty deep and puts me in a state of relaxation. Makes me almost want to weep but i don't know why.
novelist has become my favorite a great band greetings from Peru lml
Man i love this band, but i thing that Novelists lose your identity without a great songwriter and singer like Matteo Gelsomino. We miss him!...before i forget, this song is a masterpiece...

Absolutely, the guy was awesome. The replacements are not anything like the same level.
Coming back to this vid in 2023 and now Camille is on lead vox, no longer just a gues spot. 🥰
1:55 - 2:19 wtf?? So dreamy and other worldly chill. Beautiful.. all of it is
Man Novelists songs make me look up more words in the dictionary than my English teacher back in my school days. They should sell a deluxe edition of their album with a little dictionary as a gimmick that contains the definitions of all the difficult vocabularies used in their songs.
That’s just life.
A loveliest track for the end of this year🖤 what a composition..love from assam,india..made my day.
This band is utterly amazing This song is so beautiful Love you Novelists FR
Awesome ! ❤🇧🇷😎 Put on the headphones, forget your worries and problems, enjoy endless flight with wonderful this music!
The duo voices are great bless 🙏🏻
Welcome Camille!!!
Novelists never fail to amaze me. So much talent. I may have had to dictionary some of the words, but once I did, I understood how deep this song really is. Love you Novelists, thanks for pulling me out of some dark places
Was having a bad day. This song helped. Absolutely gorgeous song
This band keeps getting better and better! Favourite band of all time!!
"And get me outside of my head when I'm one breath away from drowning... UWUUUUUUUUUUU" 1:13
this music is especial in my life
I love this song, but we really need an extended version with an outro guitar solo. Would make so much sense
This is good, really good.
It's different but still has that unique Novelists sound, I like good job guys
This band writes some of the best hooks. Super underrated IMO.
Brillant in any path they’re tooking. Either calm, melodic and peaceful material or brutal and louder stuffs! Love them! (et vive la France 🇫🇷)
