great video but very hard to see the colours on the launchpad

Big shoutout to the camera crew who filmed the touchpad. Just the right amount of exposure to ensure none of the colours on the pads are visible whatsoever, almost rendering the entire tutorials completely useless.

Thanks for this mate. I just picked this up on black friday and i'm loving it so far with ableton. You're giving us a complete rundown for free. Gotta respect that.

In chord mode, if you save a couple chords and then you change the scale of the notes on the left, do the saved chords change to the new scale or the stay the same as they were saved?

Great video, my only complaint is you made me make my mind up even before I got to the part I really am interested in the step sequencer mode, a great tutorial/user guide but damn you that is going to cost me money!!!! :) Going to watch Pt 2 now.

I have a question about the chord mode, what is the range of notes displayed on the grid when you are in the chord mode, is it 5 octaves? or in other words can you only use the notes within 5 octaves when you are building a chord? or can you use other notes by using the octave change button while still building the chord?

Just got this for Christmas and have 0 plan about this awesome thing. Just gotta watch this video a thousand times to internalize it haha

Hello I’m completely new to this software and launchpad as a whole. I’m having trouble plugging in sounds on the apleton software and have that sound reflect on the launchpad. I’ve tried to watch many videos on how to solve this And I’m quite confused. Pointers please ?

i personally find useless the orange column in chord mode. Maybe i'm ignorant, but would not be more useful an extension of all the left pads in that place?

Can this be used with Logic Pro ?

Man, All of the information like how to set up the buttons to play clips and in general how to get started you say will be talked about in a bit but is never talked about. This is a good video I am sure for people who know how to set this up and are in the industry but sadly I am not that person and I am having a difficult time finding videos on how to do that. Any links to some very basic videos on assigning clips to screens or tracks and explaining the set up would be greatly appreciated.

I've been trying to figure out the purpose of the Scarlett interface that has nothing going to the inputs for this entire video... 0.o

Chord mode isn't working straight out of the box. None but a few of the notes are in the layout. The chords work with what notes are available. How to fix this?

I'd just like to know if, Launchpad mini Mk3 has arp function, or note repeat for drumbs, spesifically for closed high-hats, and how to activate the function please? I am blind, so if it can be activated manually on the launchpad using a shift shortcut, great, but if it has to be activated via the computer, that will also work. Thank you for your kind comment, glad you've been enjoying the content. The LaunchPad Mini does not have an Arp or Note repeat function. These are found on the Pro model or the LaunchKey Mini MK3 which is in a similar price bracket to the LaunchPad Mini, making them a good combination. All the best :)

Not sure if you can help but - no MIDI clips are recorded when I attempt to record. It will play back the sound, but no clip appears in ableton. What am I doing wrong?

For some reason, my session mode is not lighting up and is not available to use. Can anyone help me with this?

So if you're in chord mode with a scale of A minor the preset triad single button column will play A minor, B Diminished, C Major, D Minor, E Minor, F Major, G Major? Don't you think it's weird in chord lock mode that you play the chords with the right hand and the melody with the left hand? Seems awkward. Sequencer seems really cool on this product but would have liked to have seen 8 tracks.

Yes and you can add a second note to get 7th chords also 😃 What is weird is that in chord lock, you play notes with a vertical scale, while in notes mode, the scales are horizontal... The best would be to be able to go back to notes modes, with the two right columns reserved to chords

I agree 8 tracks would have been better but a 4 tracks sequencer under $300 is already a very good deal :D

Is this compatible wit FL Studio 21?

Ideally you need to underexposure when shooting things with lights, it’s pretty hard to see the colours, good tutorial otherwise.

I am having a problem with fx sends on the LP P mk3. The second send button lights up correctly but does not switch to second fx send values on the 8x8 grid pads when engaged. So I can only control one send. Did you have this issue?

Please tell me you can change the color of the program. Grey is soooo dull!

The big price difference is of course a big plus especially for those that don't need all of the Push features. However, two more major advantages are that the Launchpad Pro Mk3 can be used standalone to control hardware without a computer, and for me the biggest advantage is that it's much more portable.

@@peterbsims Good points raised by @Tony2dH there. The second part of this video will feature the standalone sequencer aspect of the Launchpad, which is a significant part of this unit that the Push 2 doesn't quite compete with.

I've only used it in standalone mode to drive my Korg Wavestate. It seems to add a quality to the sound that the keyboard alone doesn't do. I can't describe it but it's there.

Launch Pad can be used for Octapad patch changes by midi settings??? by midi this setting is possible??? launchpad and octapad connection is possible by midi setting???? launchpad is only used for ableton software???

Unless you download a script I highly doubt it. The only other daw it works with seamlessly other than ableton is logic

On the MK3 they have included 16 scale modes, these are: - Natural Minor, Natural Major, Dorian, Phrygian, Mixolydian, Melodic Minor, Harmonic Minor, Bebop Dorian, Blues, Minor Pentatonic, Hungarian Minor, Ukrainian Dorian, Marva, Todi, Whole Tone, Hirajoshi

ok so it seems it doesnt work. in Launchpad Pro you had 32 scales! and now in MK3 you got 16 scales. the Custom Mode is a disaster? how can you e.g. add 16 more scales with all root notes? it seems to be not possible and the custom mode page is a disaster, adding notes you have to drag and drop 64 note widgets seperately and for each scale and note? im sorry but this is a bummer and total disaster if true, i hope you got a solution i dunno and would love to hear if you have one :)! novation seems to really not describe this well or not have a solution

I don't have a Launchpad yet. Which scales did you need? I noticed no lydian, and Locrian! I want to have the keyboard in B locrian so its laid out like the natural notes on my 6-string bass. I had a go at putting it into the online editing program, and it's a bit tedious. But it looks like it'll work just fine... I figure i'll only have to make 1 custom layout.

Why so much more expensive than the original launchpad pro? It’s almost double the price for a few more features

The sequencer and midi outs are kind of a game changer. It's a really nice step up for anyone who's used to a circuit.

In person the LEDs are much more visible, the camera doesn't do such a good job picking it up with our bright lights unfortunately.

Don't buy pro mk3. Friendly suggestion. Ther are so many features in launchapd95 better than the original that new iteration can't grasp.
