Nottingham Victoria and Loughborough Central station in the 1960s

Here's eight minutes of wonderful film, taken in the earlier part of the 1960s when the Great Central was still a through route to London.
We start at Nottingham Victoria with trolley busses running outside, before looking over the wall at a wide variety of motive power on different services - and there is a look at how to rescue a locomotive which has been derailed on the turntable. Later from the platform it's clear how big a station Victoria was
The film is silent (no attempt has been made to recreate a soundtrack) and the original cameraman is unknown.
We then shift to Loughborough Central, a location that needs no introduction, but does show the extent of the loops around the west side of the station - and features some trains running in from the north.
It's this sort of scene that will be created when the Reunification project is completed. To find out more go to www/gcrailway.co.uk/unify
